Glad you found some people to help you push the bike. I had to push mine over Chang la all alone
Stayed at pang too. If you guys find a yak hotel, ask the lady if she had seen my sunglasses (red tinted ones)
Grand willow is where stayed too, remember that Mikey? All seems to be a re-run of our run to leh.
And oh, Mohan is probably the BEST mechanic in entire kashmir. Did you notice how many bikes break down during the climb? Did you break the push road or something else?

Oh by the way, you got to ride a truck in himalayas, How cool is that

Yes new report!
What a great mountain passes!!! Absolutely stunning.

The thing that really is memorable to me is how clear the sky is... to me it felt like you just could take out your contactlenses and throw them away. Never saw so far, so clear. Amazing.

By the way... staying in them tents is really great! Enjoyed that too.... (freezing cold in the night).
..... but came back with campilobacter-bacteria.... (not too bad losing a few kilo's).
.... and easily fixed with some antibiotics (after some months).

Keep posting! I'll be waiting for that.

Pic.... tents at the Everest by nigt... somebody woke me up.... miss, miss... we have a clear view on Everest!!
(actually.... we three days of clear sky at the Everest).

Wow, Mark! What an adventure!

I agree with iDave about the coffee comment...'cept I couldn't drink anything reading that. My cup stayed in my hand as I scrolled through your words and pictures, sometimes not wanted to breathe.

Safe riding...I'm going to check your SPOT tracker now...

Being from the PNW (or many other laces in North America) I find that I (we) often take what we have for granted and am often disappointed or at the very least underwhelmed by so called "breathe taking scenery" ...I dont think you can say that of India....I will ride that road one day....hopefully sooner than later. Until then I can live vicariously through you.

Very envious!

I've spent the last couple days catching back up with the trip. I read for a while as I sat in the hospital with my (very Dad like) stepdad whom I love deeply. He has Parkinson's and extremely bad lung cancer that has spread to his bones. We had a tough but good night spent together remembering times we shared. He'll soon give in to his health condition and we won't have him but in our hearts as we try to make it through life. The best thing is he gave his life to Christ long ago and we have that assurance to lean on just as you do with Chris. As we've watched his body wither for the past six months, I've often thought of you. It's interesting how it seems like you know someone who you've never even seen live, much less have never met.

It didn't strike me as lucky that you were so close to help when your bike broke down. God gives us good gifts just as we don't expect them. Sometimes its hard to remember that His hand is on everything even something as "unimportant" as a little motorcycle ride in India. I know by your expression of faith that you know this and I don't pretend to tell you something you don't already know about our Lord.

God bless you Radioman. I have and will pray for your travels

As I type this and I'm back home two hours from my parents, I just received a call from my brother at the hospital that our mother (primary care giver for our stepdad) has blood pressure of 200 over 100 and a high pulse rate. When you read this, please pray for them. Thank you brother and be careful.
