Better than TV

It is incredible to follow this ride. Thanks to all who have posted the additional historical and other information. The photos are amazing. Be safe. Hope you figure out why your bike is using so much fuel.....

You live in Cape Town? You should ride there. Or fly there and get an Enfield and ride it home

Looking at your SPOT Tracker and the direction you are headed, I keep wondering how often this has run through your head in the past couple of days...

Traffic in India

"4) so many objects will be on the road, like cows, tuk tuks, carts, fancy 100+ K cars, Big overloaded trucks"

You have really hit the nail on the head here explaining why traffic in India is so difficult. It's not that there is a lot of traffic (there is), but the variety of traffic. Pedestrians, bicycles, scooters, animal drawn carts, cars, buses, and trucks all share the same lanes. Throw in the stray cows and the occasional monkey and you REALLY have to be paying attention.

I have only been a passenger in India, and that was scary enough. You are a brave man, my friend! Keep up the very entertaining ride report.

WOW! Mark you are really moving along... I have been out riding and am just now trying to catch-up on your adventure. Those mountains look fascinating in a cold kinda way. I wouldn't worry so much about slow internet rigth now, just savior where you are, because you probably won't be back. So, are you going to attempt Katmandu? I would love to see pictures of that place "hint-hint " Finally have a bike that will slow you down Overall good choice/decision Well as you know after riding together you know I would probably have had a melt down in that Indian traffic.

I just finished up a 2500 mile ride through Nv-AZ, and Utah and had a good chat with an acquaintance from your past... remember Paul on the 660 Tenere ? We met at the Overland Expo in AZ; He said to say Hi

As always take care in your travels and Live the Dream

See you out there,
