Good to be back

Being back home after my own little adventure around the country has been filled with annoying chores. I sat down in my coffee chair and read backwards into your RR this morning. Ahhh, feels good to be connected into it again. I really look forward to following you through SA this fall....meanwhile you look quite busy with all those projects !!! Rock on Radioman.....

Hola Amigo. Hasta bastanate tiempo que no te veo.

Hope the grass wasn't too tall when you returned. But no sweat, your lawnmower probably has more horsepower than that Royal Enfield you were riding in India.

I'll be back down to continue my South American journey in September. Will pick up the bike at Motolombia in Medellín and then ride down to Cuenca to visit a friend, then south from there. Hopefully our paths will cross again.

Keep up the great RR!

Hola Mark! Great to have a chance to ride with you and share a meal last week... or was it the week before... time flies and all that.
I am finally home as my long vacation is coming to an end.
At least the home improvement and yard work are better than RV plumbing. Believe me, I would much rather do just about anything than RV plumbing ever again... but I digress.

Thanks for the hat and have a great time on the rest of your ride. I hope we have a chance to share a meal or an adult beverage before you head South but if not I can at least follow along here.

Thanks for keeping up with your report... I know how much of a challenge it is and you set the bar pretty high. We are all enjoying it. Thank you

Another Update....

My thread is turning into Yardwork and Home repair thread of the year But it is just a short term issue. The time is ticking for me to return to Ecuador. Have set my return date for September 11th!! Just over 3 weeks left here in the states before I am back on the road again!!

After returning to Portland, I had to resume working on an area of dry rot. Had pulled it apart 2 weeks ago but did not have time to finish. So I jumped into it this week, and wanted to get it completed.

Got the last area of rot out, new studs and plywood sliced in.......

Stirring up some old paint.... fortunately I have all the supplies, large paint stirring set up.

The special Hardy Stucco siding came in while I was gone, so I got the siding and new trim Painted in the driveway....

Finishing the new tar paper ...... But decided to leave a small note for anyone who works on the house in the future!

Then put up siding .... Just the last section to go. Of course it is the second story and the most difficult!

Got it in (secret was measure twice, cut and fit test piece before hoisting the heavy 4 x 8 foot sheet...... to the second story)

All done, Touched up the nail heads, Caulked the window and the gutter area....

PROJECT COMPLETED........ Must be time to go for a ride tomorrow will take care of some bills, and details, then pack the bike. But will have to wait until Friday for a special Guest to arrive :)

Right on... funny how projects keep creeping into extended ride reports.
I know you are relived to have this behind you and you can look forward to having the weight off your shoulders as you head South again

Went for a ride last night...... Decided to stop by Harley Night at the old Wankers corner.....

Which one of these is not like the other

Saw some friends with Harleys Mario, Mike, Mike etc...

And had a discussion with one of the HarleyShop owners.... "when you get back, we could have a night to have you talk about your travels!"

The kids are alright!!!

Ok, well, it's back to school for all the kids that RadioMan befriended last year. First day of school I had many kids run up and ask..........." Where's RadioMan? " He certainly has made an impression, a good one

At the end of the year, Mrs. S's class made me a book, called, My Favorite Moments with Mr. F ( yours truly ). In CA elementary school there is not funding for a full time art teacher or PE teacher. They rely on parents to do this and I do both those jobs every year. It's very fun for me and we have a GREAT time. At least half the favorite moments....yes, competing with water balloon battles, kick ball, wacky relays, painting , glitter, glue, pastels, was " my favorite moments were when he talked about RadioMan.

So, here's a few of the kid's replies. Ok the first is from my daughter, I don't recall ever "pegging" my pants.......or even worse.......... could those be capris??

this one is awesome. It looks like a briefing for The Expendables

And one more, group shot
