Think TUCSON in lieu of Houston

My version of getting the phone call from Mark

They didn't give you one of these did they?

Sux, but I guess it's better to get that sort of thing out of the way now.

Cool, I see only positive waves...

But I can see the tech at BMW saying what Moriarty says at 0:25

Stuff Happens. The Iron Horse BMW guys have been great to work with. I have full confidence that they will get it repaired properly and under Warranty, getting us back on the road as quickly as possible. Just looking at this as part of the adventure, even though I reall was looking to be back on the road.

As C-Stain said:

Mark, it's not an adventure until something goes wrong. Consider this the "official" start! ;-)

Man.......I think that's the first engine failure I've heard of on the F800.
Better now than in S America. Best put your feet up and have a brew.

Let me know if you want to ride my 'Strom instead!

I could start quoting cliches for you. But the only thing that seems to fit is, "Everything happens for a reason.". You're now overcoming the first real adverse event of your adventure. But the bright side is, you've got a place to stay, friends pulling for you and friends and family to spend time with. And since you don't fumar a whole lot yet...now would be a good time to start brushing up on your High School spanish!

Noob hey, cerveza y bocadillos Bacon, pronto!

Oh Dios, ¿dónde está el Starbucks más cercano?

Falla de la unidad final en un BMW? Nunca he oído hablar de la cuestión, seguramente broma!

And the one line you should really learn:

Hey Senor ... tienes un camión?

All kidding aside Mark....best of luck. We're watching your updates and wishing you well. Hope you're back on the road soon!

However...if you're still having troubles..I've got a V-Strom with a new K60 rear tire, a TKC80 front and some cool mermite panniers. I'd be happy to deliver to you for not much extra on the selling price.

Generosity of the ADV community yzfcathy was so generous to loan me her R6 to get back to my brother house tonight until we can see how long things will be.

But Sam was laughing at me as I am a big guy on a "little" bike. Or more like a Monkey on a Bicycle

Had a cup of coffee this afternoon, and caught a nice sunset over Sombrero Peak!!

And then Sam needed some air in his tire.

Wow

What a turn of events. Not good that it happened to begin with but good thing that it happened here in the states where there is support from BMW rather than south of the border.
