Tomos mopeds where to get them?
hello there,
When I was a kid back home in former Yugoslavia, we had bunch of Tomos mopeds. They looked like Tomos Sprint. One of my first memories on motorized two wheels was my cousin giving me a ride on his tomos. I will never forget that. So I was looking to get one, and I just wonder if anyone knows good place to buy them online. I tried CL, and local adds, but there is no Tomos mopeds around here. So I would like to order one. I am looking for Tomos Sprint. If you know the place, please let me know. Thanks.

Please post if & when you get one.
Always wanted a Kridler moped. I'm in the process of motorizing a mountain bike w/full suspension. PM me if that holds any interest. 30mph @ 150mpg, Tanaka 33cc 2 stroke. I'll be using a Robin Subaru 35cc 4 stroke @ 200mpg @ 25mph. |

no dealers found in Idaho or Utah. For now Ebay might be the best option.

our a$$es Me riding the Tomos Sprint was an accident.. my dad gave it to me after my bicycle was stolen, and I've used it daily for about 6 months, from autmn to spring, and yes, on icy roads too ![]() To be perfectly honest, the biggest issue with the Sprint was actually the asking price! It's over $1500 here new, and for that kind of money you can buy entry level Kymco, Sym, even a Piaggio scooter that will outperform the Sprint in every single way. That's really it's only flaw. If it were closer to $1000 like it was for years before the chinese scooters appeared, it would be fine. The brakes on the new Sprint were horrible, the lever were actually plastic (!) and I remember that the old Tomos A3 Automatic with the foot rear brake had better brakes "back in the day" (1980s). It tops out around 35mph (56-57km/h) but is "happy" only to around 40km/h, which is probably around half the rev range in 2nd gear. Good thing too, since you can apply both brakes at those speeds without worrying about locking up either wheel! ![]() I could skid the rear only on wet road, IF I sit up first! I know that it's not performance oriented, but the brakes are just not adequate. What happened with the front fork is a mystery to me since I sold the bike around the 600 mile mark, but the Tomos guys at the shop didn't see anything strange in the fork going loose and even commented how it's the norm! The fuel consumption was great though, you can get away with 2,2l/100km at full throttle, something that even 4 stroke 50cc scoots struggle to manage. Oh yeah, the Sprint didn't have the oil mixer, so you had to do the mixture before you put it in the gas tank. The Targa had a mixer (and blinkers). Anyways, they're still available here wherever you look, but no one is buying them anymore, not at these prices anyways (but the local post office is still buying hundreds of APN6's though). You should probably get it as a 'toy', but don't expect anything more from it.

I would love to get one of those APN6 Tomos mopeds. That one came with the gear shifter if I remember correctly. Haven't seen them around here eventhaugh they looked more "dirt worthy". Yes you are correct. I would love to get one of those A3's as well, but no go on this side of the ocean. Well, thanks for the info. I appreciate it.
