Headed to McAllen for my brother Joe's Memorial Service happening tomorrow morning in McAllen. Can't wait to once again be subjected to El Valle weather. It's supposed to be a balmy 84 here in Atlanta today. Any of you go to McHi in the 60's?

No, not I. I went to Donna High in the mid-late 70's.

Weather is nasty, minimum of 100. Mornings are bearable and things begin to get nice at about 7pm.

How long have you been away?

The weather wasn't that bad after although it was 100+ all 4 days I was in Texas. It showed 107 on my rental a couple of times between SAT and MFE. The last time I lived in McAllen was 1978 but I was reared there from the age of five. My brother passed away on the 5th in McAllen and he grew up riding with Steve Wise, Kent Howerton, and such. I used to shoot races for Cycle News in 1972-1974 range. The sleepy little town I grew up in is no more. Sigh

Condolences on the passing of your brother.

Your shooting races for Cycle News is very cool. If you know Steve Wise you must know Jimmy Straight too. I don't know him very well but I've had him do some work on my bikes on a couple of occasions.

Definitely a bit sad that this entire area is becoming very urbanized.

I shouldn't have been out there on the bike. It was just supposed to be a little ride around the block, but it felt so good after 5 or 6 weeks! Anyway, hope to get more players to join in.
