Delete all maps in my zumo 660 not working

Hi

I have tried to delete all my maps in my zumo 660, i'm about to replace it with a retyped map from mapsource. The problem is that the map is still there! I have deleted the gmapprom.img the gmap3d.img (That map is the only one missing.) and gmapbmap.img. What is wrong, why is map still there, everything is deleted? Strange.. Someone has a clue what i'm doing wrong?

No need to delete anything. When you load the new maps, they will replace the old ones.

Since you deleted the preloaded City Navigator NT and the DEM map (3D) and the base map, I have the feeling that you are not talking about adding a Supplemental Map which is what Jamie was implying - that would have the file name/type = gmapsupp.img. Rather, you sound like you want to delete the Garmin preloaded City Nav maps.

If that is what you want, backup and then delete all of these files in the zumo\Garmin\ folder (if you have them):

prodkeyNA.bin
gmap3d.img
gmapbmap.img
gmapprom.img
gmaptz.img
fs_image.ver
gmap3d.sum
gmapbmap.sum
gmapprom.unl
gmaptz.sum

Then, when you send your "retyped" map file to the zumo from Mapsource it will be called gmapsupp.img and be the only map in the zumo\Garmin folder. No guarantee that the zumo will accept your map as the "primary" map but it still should show in the Map Info list as whatever you named it.
