Rain

Hey Browneye or whoever else can answer...

You were talking about riding with the 39 in the rain....any seepage, or trickles inside the shield or does it have a pretty good waterproof seal?

I have a high dollar modular that I really like but it sucks in the rain when the water starts trickling in on the backside of the shield. No just wiping with the glove.

I havent experienced rain in the back.
Here is one more diff. The vent exit metal mesh is smaller on the afx.

Basically the only difference i can see is the lining of the helmets.
The quick release chin strap is nice but i do wonder about its sturdyness if you do go down on pavement as to the buckle staying put?

I've only ridden in sprinkles, not solid rain, no issues.

When it's pouring I duck in anyway, I'm a wuss.

Southern Florida....so lots of rain

Have no issues of leaking and I have been in a heavy downpour recently. Have not had the helmet long so only the one test so far.

Score!!

I just got an email from motorcycle superstore letting me know the external sun shield for the FX-39 was back in stock It has been UNAVAILABLE everywhere for months... So I check their website out and while it shows the dark smoke color is in stock, the picture they have with it is the full shield? So I call to verify what they actually have. The guy looks it up and tells me YES it is actually the exterior sun shield, and BTW you better hurry if you want one since there is ONLY 1 IN STOCK. So I hurry up and order it right NOW over the phone. It's on the way and they are OUT OF STOCK once again. I'm not sure why they had only 1 but I was fortunate enough to get it. I've even called AFX directly and they have told me they have NO IDEA when the will be getting more of them in circulation.

Busted!!

My score turned into a BUST!! I got the box from Motorcycle Superstore today and opened it up..................just to find a full face shield in dark smoke. NOT the sun shield that I was promised it would be. Ahhh well, now I have a spare smoked shield for my helmet.
BTW if anyone is interested in an MSR Xpedition M-13 in XL I've got one up for sale. It has a BRAND NEW dark face shield on it, as well as a BRAND NEW clear one to go with it too. PM me for details.

Anyone looking for these helmets, there are a ton on eBay. The Msr, fly, afx etc are all the same helmet with different stickers. I'm buying a couple of these plus two new modular helmets for me and the wife for less than the price of one new one at the dealer.
