Thanks. I think I'll give it a shot.

Odd grammar, words and spelling brought to you by my iPhone's autocorrect.

Yup, dual sport maps. Something that needed to be created, crafty really put something cool together.

Kudos... impressed with your work.. I also feel like a rather spodely developer now.

Looking forward to taking it for a spin soon.

The Nexus 7 for example you can download off line maps of the areas you are traveling too and use the GPS as is, no data needed. The nice thing about that is you can download a few maps, reach a wifi hot spot, download or update as needed and so on. Again, no data needed. Really depends if you own an iPhone already or not. If you do not own an iPhone and do not want a data plan, just get a Nexus 7, you get a good GPS built it, and with the Nexus, once you are in a wifi hot spot, you then have a full blown internet device for email, surfing, Hulu, etc. on a nice looking and good sized screen.

Thanks a ton for the suggestions! I do own an iPhone-5, however, I have been kind of "ogling" a pad. Need it to run Outlook, so the Microsoft Surface unit is the only one i know of so far that does and its to big. But you are suggesting it needs to be an Adroid yes? Am I understanding this correctly? Are there any other smaller pads that support Outlook? Sorry for the "noob" questions...

Thanks in advance...

You can download apps to create, edit and read any office documents on any Android device including tablets. I've used Quickoffice Suite as well as Officesuite Pro. Both are good.

I was given money and the wife's blessing to buy whatever tablet I wanted for Christmas, and I decided on the Nexus 7. Not only the best bang for the buck, but IMHO the best tablet out there.

Outlook is an email/collaboration program that is often used to connect to a Microsoft Exchange server.

Lol, somehow Outlook got translated to Office in my head. I blame the wine.

Carry on!

Thumb Problems on nexus7

I'm having problems running DSM on my nexus 7. In particular, the speedo/compass page doesn't display the speed numbers properly and the trip meter has never changed from 0000.

Am I the only one having these problems? I've reinstalled, restored to factory setting s and reinstalled, all to no avail.

I bought a nexus 7 only to run DSM, so I'm a bit disappointed that it won't run properly.

I'll post a screenshot when I can.
Any suggestions gladly accepted!

Thanks,

Pete

I wend with a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 inch. It has more features and was cheaper. Haven't had an issue with anything with it including DSM.

Over here the 16gb N7 is the same price as the 8gb Tab 2.

I'll have a play with mine and see if the trip meter moves...

Follow up on Nexus 7 problem

Quick follow up.

I rolled my device back to Android 4.1.2 last night which fixed the number formatting problem, but still seeing no change on the trip meter even though the speed indicator shows the correct speed (as far as I can tell while riding).

I'll keep investigating...

On a different note, has anyone successfully paired a Nexus 7 with an SMH10 headset?

Cheers,

Pete

Try resetting both the odometers (by long clicking them) and then see if they begin to respond.
