It was working for me. I restarted it anyway, can you check it? It may be the internet line that is down. Seems unlikely but is possible.

Web site is down for me in San Diego. Also, I can't search the local maps from the app.

Well somethings wrong then. I'll investigate further.

Web site is back up. DSM Map Search is now working again in the app. That's what I call action!

I redeployed the war and now it seems to be responding better. Thanks for the heads up!

Hey crafty, quick question about the app. First kudos. I used it last weekend at the Anza Borrego Desert Dash and it was awesome. Aside from my phone locking the screen after an incoming txt or call, everything worked perfectly. Lots of people were impressed with how it looked and although it took a little convincing to get the gps pro to plug my phone into his mac for the track download, he made quick work of it. It doesn't get much easier than that! That brings me to my question. The gpx file was made up of several track segments and covered both days routes. I saw people with their garmin units turning off some of those segments to simplify the view. Sundays route overlapped some of Saturdays route and it got a little difficult to discern what was what. Is that possible in the app and I just don't know it? It would sure come in handy for these types of events.

Thanks and keep up the good work!!

There are no in app track editing or selecting features. You get the whole "map" which is a collection of tracks, routes, and waypoints. The idea is that you upload the GPX file to the website which has TONS of editing features and then you transfer the map to your phone. That doesn't help you when you are in the field I understand, but I am trying to keep the complexity of the UI down. A track selection feature is not tough to add though. If y'all can handle ANOTHER menu item I'll put that together one of these days.

The remote control now addresses this "feature" of Android. You hold down a button for 1/2 a second and the phone unlocks and opens the map.

That's a good idea, being able to turn specific tracks in a single map on or off. As stated above, we had riders turn off the Sunday tracks because there was some overlap with the Saturday tracks for the event.

Keep up the great work!!

My feeling is that the very thin phones with giant displays are not the way to go. First off, the big displays consume a lot of juice. Then, because of their large size (and thinness) they are subject more torsional forces. I have no data, but my gut feeling is that smaller, thicker, less high tech phones are superior for this application.

My Droid X is pretty beefy in a otter box defender case and the holster holds it very well. Went over the bars on the MTN bike yesterday and while the pump and computer both were thrown about 10 ft the droid stayed in the holster mounted to the stem. need to learn how to bunny hop.
