Arte, you talking pavement or beach? If beach, then I'm in! I scare up kenny into going again, and his boy, and maybe my enduro neighbor buddy of 16. We'll have to contact "el Captain" for the boat ride of course.

Beach! I want to take some pics of Pata de Perro on the boat crossing that channel.

Hmmm, interesting, very interesting...SPI to Corpus sounds really fun. I'm keeping my eyes open for developments. The KLR would be a pig but if I could just make up my mind in regard to a light dual sport I'd have something a bit more fun.

Spidennis, thanks for the specifics on the riding area along the channel. I may trailer my KDX out there one of these days.

In other news, went searching for the South Texas tag today and saw this on 2nd street and decided it was unwise to follow behind.

speed limits? yup .......

but in the off season you can get away with more.
corpus side near town has very low limits, as it's usually a zoo there in summer.
Once 20 miles south thing open up nicely.

It's the buddy system at work here for this, and cash of course.
I bet we can talk the capt. into another ride across (and back) in the fall season.
The boat he used worked perfectly for this .....
easy on and easy off.

Sorry it took so long for me to see this thread. I can't get on-line as much as I'd like too.

My KTM is down at the moment, but hope to have it going, and be riding with and meeting some of you soon.

I'm sure I know some of you from my shop here in McAlen, but from the posted pictures don't recognize you yet.

I dropped in and chatted with you awhile back. You told me that you didn't like Metzler tires and I thought that was unfortunate since I swear by them on the R1100/R1150GS bikes

That's OK. I am hoping that we all get some time in riding together when it gets a bit cooler.

On my way home from work this morning I got a nice unprovoked ADV salute from a squid on some sport bike with a custom (read crappy) airbrush job on it.

It was probably the author of post #4 Here

He saw the rugged, strapping he-man that you are and rightfully concluded you were an ADV inmate and thus gave you the appropriate salute. You probably didn't notice but I suspect he followed you trying to hand you a beer, a bacon sammich and lots of pictures of wominz beubies.

Very nice guys. I guess he saw the fact that I had not only my jacket on but I also had my hi-viz vest and figured I was part of the non-squid group. How dare I go ATGATT!

Obviously destroying the macho image of motorcycling around here.

Was the squid wearing a thong and assless chaps?
