I got a previously owned Canon Power Shot SD850 (I should be a KLR rider too ).

Since I wasn't to impressed with the automatic function, I just programmed the manual settings the way I liked it (it's not really manual since it's still does autofocus). I think it does the job just fine, and I never edit pics afterwards - besides maybe cropping.

I agree, I've got a SD550. Not a great camera but good for this application. It can be worked one handed an has survived one drop on pavers. No idea how many while protected by my body, yes I fall a lot.

day started out a bit on the chilly side, but it was all good, it actually got up to about 36 by the time I left




but my bike did not cooperate, pushed the starter and grrrghhh, grghh, grhh, gr, g... nothing. Luckily I live in the mountains... push start for the rescue!

A mile down the hill, I pull over to plug myself in and take a pic of the nice frosty landscape - cold, but it's sure purdy


my next stop is the gas station 30 miles south.... bikes dead again , this time I had to push it up a hill to get it bump started (nice workout - one way not to need heated gear...). Why can't they make bikes like in the "old times" (20something years ago) with the magic button and a kick start???

Finally managed to meet up with the crew at the Arboretum.

Cuttle, I see where you guys were just over the hill from my stomping ground ( Lake Logan) on Horseshoe Rock. Beautiful place! A few weeks ago, mtngal followed me up there...she didn't have much choice as we were riding 2-up I guess she trusts me since I was not in too much trouble after going up the hill from the 281 side I stand a lot on gravel and off road and she just sits back there and does not complain...took her on Rocky Top off old 15th just a few days before this. We should act our age I guess...
