Day one, Steve and I made a wrong turn and ended up on one of the most difficult trails in all of Moab. (Pritchett Canyon Rd) BIG mistake on the first day. (note to self: of 1-5, 5 means most difficult ) I had a hard time getting back up the rock staircases so made a detour where a tree jumped out of no where and knocked me off my bike Luckily, it all ended well, thanks to Steve and a goup of off roaders in Jeeps who helped get my bike out of the hole.
The heat in the desert canyons is just unbelievable. You would not last a single day without water!

So.... where did you guys go yesterday ??? Post some photos !!!! Good live interview.... evidently you did not pay attention to the number one rule about riding off road in MOAB.... keep your eyes on the trail, stop riding to look around ...

Everything was fine till I dropped mine (my mistake)
I cut the engine myself and it then did not start again.
Get the air filter off (under the sun) and checked what I could... did not do something special but the bike works then normally... Till I dropped it again (deep sand on this trail)
Then... but the others would be better than me to describe the situation...
I have to do some mechanic... will be back soon ( I hope)

PS: 16x45 is perfect!

moab

today we had planned to ride Kane Creek rd, Hurrah Pass, Jackson Hole and Chicken Corners in the morning, then ride back into town for lunch... well, that didn't happen as planned. Eric tipped the 9fiddy in the sand, out by Jacksoin Hole, (40kms out in the desert) and it wouldn't start. For 5 hours he worked on the bike in the scorching desert heat until he was able to get it to fire up.

Mark at Kane Creek rd

Eric and Frank prepare for surgery on the 9fiddy

Sean gets into the Fesh Fesh, challenging riding for sure

Hurrah Pass 4,780'

Jackson Hole after Eric's repairs.

I think Sean likes it here

Eric has us amazed by his determination, even now he's in the garage overhauling the carbs by flashlight

Coming back out of the canyon after a long day.
