Yeah....and in my wild, deluded imagination..... I think I see spokes. Maybe not....maybe it is just my punch-drunk mind, caused by the wait for pics and information.

It does look too skinny for a 110/80-19. That's also a pretty big spacer between the hub and the fork leg. Interesting.

Someday when you hit a rock, put a gash in your tire that has been pulled off the rim, you will be glad to have a tube. I have tubeless on my current strom and am not at all comfortable riding around with a plug in my tire, so much easier to just stick a tube in a keep going. It takes less than an hour to switch out a tube. Anyway, everyone is entitled to their opinion. |

A tubed spoked tire in a V-Strom is never ever going to happen. It's impractical for 95% of how most V-Stroms are ridden. Look at the street tire in the teaser pic, there's no way you would mount that tire on a spoked rim with tubes. Even the GS doesn't have tubes.

Now that you mention it... you know what's there? The axle pinch bolt. Either that photo's reversed, or the axle comes out the opposite way on the new Strom. So the speedo hub is probably on the other side, if it's even still on the front wheel.

If it's based on the Gladius engine as we suspect, there will be no speedo hub.

I said tubes not spokes. The GS has spokes. And I referenced the GS because it's actually made to ride off-road unlike the V-Strom.

This thread is funny as hell. Everyone on this board spends 7 years kissing Suzuki's butt over how fantastic the DL650 is, and then turns around and throws a fit when it looks as though Suzuki is not re-making the DL650 as a wannabe KTM.
I'd settle for better aerodynamics, slightly less horrible looking bodywork, and the same reasonable price point of the current Wee.
