Some recent ones along the highway between home and Anchorage.

Near Palmer in the Matanuska Valley

A little farther up, looking up the Matanuska River valley at King Mt.

Turning to face north, the view is of the Talkeetna Mts.

Looking up almost a mile to the top of King Mt.

A few peaks of the Chugach Mt Range peeking over Weiner Lake.

Fortress Ridge above Hicks Creek in the Talkeetna Mts, on the north side of the Glenn Hwy.

A very small portion of the Matanuska Glacier is visible around the shoulder of Lion's Head Butte.

A few miles earlier, the terminus of the glacier was visible from a roadside pullout.

Cresting Eureka Summit, the view back to the Chugach Mts.

The Nome-Council Highway ends here at the river. However, the locals know safe routes to cross the river to get to their homes on the other side.

Near the Train to Nowhere on the Council Highway.

The bridge over Safety Sound, on the Council Highway.

Just got back last week. Coming down the Dalton at 2AM.

Using the GoPro

I was solo (on the Vee) but linked up with this guy (on the GS) in DH. I ended up riding round trip in one shot which is why we're riding late.

Getting a little late in the season, with a few riders traveling through town. More heading south than coming into the state. But the ones who have stuck around this long get some great views, like this one of the mountains behind Nelchina Glacier.

What do you Alaskans consider Winter? August 15 through June 15?

A little tongue in cheek, but not totally.
