Sounds like you guys had a blast...

Is it possible to list the goodies you have on your bikes... ? thanks for all the feedback.. I think once my suspension dialed in ordered springs (front & rear) the bike going to be settled... next debating Slipper Clutch or Comfort Seat

1. I think my accessories are already listed and mostly pictured on page 1, post 1.
My favorites are the shock preload adjuster and the G2ergo throttle (which you can't see in those pictures)
and the evoluzione clutch slave (pictured).

2. May I ask what is "unsettled" about your suspension, Karna?

I had the bike setup for my wieght/sag problem is the springs max weight 200 pounds per manual I weigh with gear 230 pounds. Even after the bike was dialed in, testing it high and low speed corners I notice the bike wallows back and forth.
I was told to get the bike resprung for my weight. I also have shock preload adjuster, waiting to install it once I get the springs from WP.

What's the benefit of G2ergo throttle ? Would make difference stock exhaust?

What's the benefit of G2ergo throttle ? Excellent throttle control at slight openings. The tighter the hairpins, the bigger the difference. Also a must for loose surfaces. Words really don't describe the improvement. You must try it. Ride down a TIGHT twisty road with your stock throttle, then install the K400, then immediately ride down the same road.

Would make difference stock exhaust? Makes big difference with any exhaust.

Order a "tamer with K400 cam"
Very easy to install.
Works great, especially on fuel injected bikes.
I use a K400 on 990 AND 690.
(I haven't tried the "4ktm cam" because it sounds like a lot more work to install, but with no benefit over the K400).


Interestingly, after I began using G2ergo cammed throttles, I mentioned them to Jamie.
He didn't know that any company was making them, but he said that he used to have cammed throttles made for some of the bikes he raced back in the 1980's and 1990's.

I use Akra slip-ons on both the 690 & 990, and they work fine for me.
I have the oldstyle Akras on my 990, and Taz1200 has the newstyle Akras on his 990
(see pix above here someplace).





Can anyone recommend a full system for Karna that they have tried on a 990 SM-R ?

Akra slip on ..runs great..sounds great...looks great.......save some $$ of the full system......just my opinion....

I bought mine over Memorial Day weekend, I had been up to the dealer in Spring Hill, FL (N of Tampa) twice and rode their SMT demo unit. I probably put 300 miles on the demo bike, my head said buy the "T" but my heart said "R." I made the right choice with the R - for sure!

I added R&G frame, axle and fork sliders, a SW Motech rack so I can carry a soft bag, GB Racing case covers and LEO slip ons. Changed the oil at 700 miles and then took it to Jennings GP for a private track weekend. Been riding it back and forth to work, mainly city :( and a few 200-300 mile runs (that's how far we ride to find a curve down here in FL). But I'm stoked since after tomorrow I'm off for 2 weeks and headed to western NC with the SMR, DRZ and SV in the trailer. Looks like a rainy week up there, maybe the 2nd week will be drier. And a rainy day in the mountains is way better than a sunny day at work...

Take a hard look at Wings, Akra slip-ons $1300... Wings have (imo) excellent build quality, they sound and look awesome for around $750 (cant remember exactly). I think they ONLY build KTM exhaust, and they don't make em till you order them. They come in Oval or Non-oval shape and different combinations of material (I have the Ti cans with Carbon end caps, Non-Oval on mine). Now I'm looking at getting my headers ceramic coated for around $150 bucks by a local shop, thats everything from the cylinder to the can, for both pipes. My buddy just did his Super Duke and it looks killer, and provides a slight performance enhancement too. I'll have a beautiful full system from front to back for around $900. Exhaust systems seemed to have run their course for major tech break throughs, so I'm always looking for the best quality to dollar value. Leo's, Akras, FMF or Wings I doubt you could find fault with any of them.
