The Leo's were $620 shipped, another company sent me a price of $551 literally 30 minutes after placing my order. My understanding is that the Leo's aren't packed with glass, like the 2B's and FMF's. So maintenance is easier, although it's not really difficult to repack a set. I luv the Akro's, but I'd rather have the extra money for track days or trips to the mountains - LOL :)

[QUOTE= But I'm stoked since after tomorrow I'm off for 2 weeks and headed to western NC with the SMR, DRZ and SV in the trailer. Looks like a rainy week up there, maybe the 2nd week will be drier. And a rainy day in the mountains is way better than a sunny day at work...
cheers everybody And what area of WNC will you be riding in?

Exhaust Comparison...
Quick question $900 full system ? or is that the cost for ceramic coating + Wings exhaust ? was the mapping easy ? or did you need a power commander ? I'd like to get the most out of the bike, least amount exploration... I had ton of issues mapping some arrows to my previous bike... I'd like to avoid that this time around
Thanks in Advance Quote:

LOL I have a home between Sylva and Whittier. Most of my loops are west of there, down around Suches, over to Tellico and up around your side of the Park, sometimes 129. All the roads in between. I really enjoy the ride between Waynesville and Hot Springs too. I also want to scout out some dual-sport type roads, Ive heard of some good ones over by Tellico and some coming off the Cherhala. I'm coming back up in September with a couple "dual sport guys" from Florida who have no clue how beautiful and exhilarating it is up in your neck of the woods. I've done a lot of dual sport stuff over by me, and down around Toccoa/Suches/Hayesville/Robbinsville. But Id like to take them up over the Skyway since they've never been on it and have never ridden a bike in NC/TN.
And I am totally open to suggestions... ;). Off road and on road! |

Hot Springs is central to most of my favorite roads. Let me know what day you will be riding over that way. (Saturday doesn't look so good weatherwise). Check your PM's.

mapping etc

Full system was a figure of speech, and yeah I meant the cost of Wings slip-ons and ceramic coating on the headers. The bike ran fine with the Moto Box and Wings (quiet DB killers) and other misc mods on the stock map. With almost a year and a half on the stock map I finally had the Akra map loaded last week end in my never ending quest for more. Needed to know if I was missing something. I wasn't, I cant tell any difference other than the bike runs a bar or two cooler on average. Probably a waste of money, but the bike is getting more fuel on the Akra map so better safe/rich than sorry/lean, I guess. I can say for sure that with out the Moto Box, using just the Wings with quiet DBKs I would stay on the stock map for sure. The owner of Wings suggested the same, and said only to go to the Akra map if I used the loud inserts. A local dealer loaded the map for $55 bucks, so its not a big investment either way. If you are inclined to go the extra mile, custom mapping will require a Power Commander or similar, a Dyno and a capable tuner skilled in creating the map and loading it. Anyway thats all I know thus far. cheers |

COXRACINGROUPRADIATORGUARD:
http://www.coxracingroup.com/Catelog/Supermoto-990 The instructions for the KTM 990 radiator guard were incorrect. Mr. Cox said that he would rectify the situation for future sales.

Cheaper rad guard
If you don't want to drop $90 and don't mind a few zip ties, the 950SE guard may also work. I've been running one on my 950SMR. The 990 and 950 radiators are not the same part number but look nearly identical to my eye.
Less then $14: http://www.ktm-parts.com/63035034000.html Installed pics (not mine btw): http://nattymo.smugmug.com/Motorcycl.../8199949_NhCxu nattyMo screwed with this post 08-07-2011 at 12:10 PM |

I remember!
Oh, now I remember!
You wanted to see the top of the Tabernacle of the Sacred Bleeding Heart of Our Lady of Blessed Acceleration! We'll want the smaller bikes for that. It's steeper than the PartyBoss's "driveway" . *
