I am running the Akrs with stock mapping and it runs great. This is my third LC8 and the fueling is great. Didn't want to take a chance on having fueling issues by going to the akra map. not that the akra map is bad, just like the way she runs as is.

User's manual is downloadable from KTM's site. Repair manual you must buy.

You can BUY it here:

The manuals come on discs, but I print mine out and put them in ring binders along with any other important printable info on each model.

Good! Glad to hear it.

I was not so lucky with the 690 SMC. It had a severe stalling problem with Akra cans and STOCK map. The Akra map cured the problem pronto.

His last post said he was selling the wheel set so I thought maybe someone here might be interested or at least get to see the bike with a different option ... It does look cool....

I followed his thread last year, he never did post up any other pics. I'd love to see some more. I suspect that even though he can swap the wheels in 30 minutes, it's a pain to switch the suspension settings back and forth. Mine is about right for the track and hard street riding, but would rattle your fillings out off road.

I bought a plated XR650R last month so I'm working on getting a set of 17's for it. Then I'll have the big KTM and the "little" Honda, both as 'tards LOL

I like to have multiple bikes also instead of multiple wheel sets..lol. I need a new distance bike to replace my BMW GSA just have not decided yet.. I want to see the new KTM 1190 when it comes out or on the more practical side the Yamaha tenere...I have put 20k on the Vstrom this year but need more power when traveling..and keep Vstrom for commuting duty....and SMR for the crazy fun days...

got my 2011 ktm 990 SMR today have a couple ??

My 2011 KTM 990 SMR arrived today. I found a new one and got a killer deal on it. It was shipped to me from out of state. I have an 04 625 SMC currently and with my owners manual kit I received not only an owners manual but a parts manual for the engine and chasis, manuals for the forks and rear shock, and a list of items that came in the crate.

When I got my SMR today all i had was this little owners manual. I talked to the shop and they are going to look into it to see if they missed anything but I was just curious what the rest of you received when you picked up your new bike. Thanks for the help.

Also one other thing I noticed. According to the owners manual the ambient temperature should display when I click the mode button on the instrument cluster and cycle through the different modes. But when I do click this button it just cycles from the odometer to trip 1 and trip 2 and then back to the odometer. The temp never displayed I talked to the dealer and they think there may be an issue with the instrument cluster. Did anyone else experience this problem?

Then one last issue the ignition lock. My RC51 it just locks when I turn the wheels all the way to left and turn the key in the ignition to the locking position. The KTM I noticed when I turn the handle bars all the way to the left and try to to push down the ignition from the off to the locking position it seems like it doesn't want to turn all the way. Maybe I need to jiggle the handle bars a bit to get the pin to go through. Anyone else run into issues with this?

Thanks for your help.

^ regarding ignition lock... Rotate the bars back towards straight just a bit while trying to lock ignition. The steering stops are adjustable, so they may have set them a bit tighter than needed.
