Swear I'm gonna do that to my bike one day... The 250 isn't really a tire smoker...

Gonna rig a handle bar mounted remote pump to a oil injector/ jet in my muffler...

Pull right up on me, I dare ya!

Eek WTF was she thinking

I like to go for a short ride during my lunch break to get my mind back into something resembling order and a positive outlook. While waiting at a light to be able to make a U-turn, a car coming the opposite direction in the middle of three lanes of travel did something I'm still having trouble comprehending.

That white Cadillac made a left turn directly in front of another car that was in the oncoming left turn lane (2 lanes to the left of the Cadillac's original lane) and nearly hitting/being hit by that car. The left turn continued along the lanes in my direction of travel and she was narrowly avoided by another car and a city bus

I got a look at the driver of the Cadillac as she cruised by and what surprised me wasn't the blueish white hair on her head, but the fact that she had such a peaceful, serene smile on her face. Completely oblivious to the world around her

Now I'm usually the forgiving sort when something happens that didn't turn out well. OK, as long as people weren't harmed, metal wasn't bent or paint wasn't traded. But some people need to be taken out from behind the wheel before something bad happens

That's been my experience too.

I can out accelerate *most* things on the road even on the pig known as a GS-Adv.

Turkey revenge

I'll try to keep this short and simple.
Rural dirt, back road commute to work. 6:30am sunrise. Turkey in the road in front of me. I slow to about 5-10 mph and head straight at him for a little early morning turkey harrassment. (no, I wouldn't have hit him if he held his ground). He takes to flight but has no where to go due to the narrow wooded road and over head canopy of tree cover. I speed up to keep up with him and we're both doing about 35 mph. He's flying right next to me at shoulder height and keeps looking over at me. The situation is so surreal, almost animated. I'm thinking to myself, this is very cool, tis a good day to be alive. The over head canopy opens up and he climbs in elevation and is quickly up and out of sight. I accelerate down the road. A few seconds later, WHOOSH!! #$%@&* WTF??? This pissed off turkey comes back down and dive bombs me directly from behind. Only inches from the top of my helmet and down directly into my field of view. Now, he's flying directly in front of my face, pacing my speed and about every fourth wing flap, looking over his shoulder at me! I was just waiting for him to dump a big turkey load on me, but he didn't. Then he flew up and off again. Scared the crap outta me big time! And here I thought revenge was only a human emotion.

I had a run in with a turkey last year. I was doing 60mph on the road I live on when a turkey came running out of the woods. I had just enough time to pick a spot where I was going to hit it when he flew right over me.

And If you liked the turkey tale...

Almost the same scenario as the revenge of the turkey story. Back road, rural as hell, me puttin along. Only this time it's a turkey bussard. You know, those ugly ones with the red heads. He's in the road enjoying a nice sun baked road kill racoon snack. I ride straight for him. He's so full that he has to run a bit before he can take flight. Now for you readers that don't know this fun fact. Bussards can and will gorge themselves so full that they can't fly. Nature has provided for their continued survivlal by enabeling them to purge themselves of their recent lunch, on demand, in order to take flight when necessary. Which this one did. The only problem was that he was about 20ft. in the air, directly in front of me, doing about the same speed. I was looking up at him when he up-chucked his recent buffet. It was such a strange sight that for a split second, it didn't really sink in as to what was raining down towards me. Our two trajectories (the bussard barf and me) were to intersect in the road about 30 ft. ahead. Luckily, I was able to slow and swerve enough that I missed his airborn lunch. Close though. Some was still plopping on the road beside and behind me. YUCK!! So, store this one in your memory banks folks, and if you decide to harass a road side bussard, Carefull when you look up, and don't ride underneath him!!

They are weird-ass birds. They barf on cue as a defense as well as an enabler for quicker flight. They pee down their legs to cool themselves off too.

Friend of mine had them roosting on the railing of his deck and eating the hot tub cover. Then they got on the roof and started tearing shingles off. A few magnum goose loads later, most were never seen again.

As long as we are talking Turkey...

Had a little encounter on the ride home from work.

I had slowed down to look at the flock that was gathered in the field to the left when I felt bump on my foot. Never saw the bird at impact. Wouldn't have had much time to react even if I had....

This is a pretty funny turn. You'd think that commuting out of Boston that I wouldn't have any problems with turkeys, right? I've had to slow down for them twice in the last week.

I don't ever recall seeing wild turkeys as a kid.
