We've all followed cops cruising in the left lane, changing lanes or making turns without signaling, rolling through stop signs, yakking on their phones and playing with their computers while driving, etc. I've seen all of the above dozens of times.

I will say that I have never seen a LEO who's driving was at the bottom of the scale but they are by no means universally at (or even near) the top of the scale either.
I had one run a red light the other day and I almost t boned him.
But he was busy dialing his phone so I guess it's ok.

Should have been dragged off his bike and received a good beating.

Sounded more like a french accent to me - fits better with the small 2-stroke bike as well.
All true - but he gets a high score in the Creativity department.

Edit: Some of you don't seem to be aware that the preferred tool for stealing bikes secured with hardened chains is the kind of battery powered die grinder the guy uses. In other words, he may well be a bike thief - but the "Shock and Awe" was something else.

I was playing off the famous Yakov Smirnoff jokes that have become a meme: "In Soviet Russia....."

Quote:
Russian reversal or "In Soviet Russia" is a type of joke originated by Smirnoff, and is an example of antimetabole. The general form of the "In Soviet Russia" joke is that the subject and object of a statement are reversed, and "In (Soviet) Russia," or something equivalent, is added, and the verb is often left unconjugated and articles are omitted, mimicking perceived Russian-accented speech. The original was:
In America, you can always find a party.
In Soviet Russia, Party always find you!
He is also famous for "What a Country!" "I go to New York and I saw a big sign saying 'America Loves Smirnoff' and I said to myself, what a country!"

He was probably responding to a "higher priority call" You know, something way more important than stopping for red lights so you don't FUCKING KILL someone. I don't care where he's going there is no excuse for running a red light, even with lights and sirens they should at least slow down when going against the red.

My mistake. I mis-read the sentence and thought 2 lanes *each way.*

Carry on.

Not being an LEO I would think a "priority" would mean getting the fucktard out of your way with say.....those purty lights and load as siren.

Maybe his priority was he had to drop a duece and didn't want to waste time getting the fucktard to move his ass out of the left lane.....

And Mrs. Hooli thinks giving our 15 y/o daughter her Hemi Grand Cherokee so she can get a new Jeep is a good idea............... This is the same daughter who drove my Silverado up an embankment at 7 mph and almost rolled it as I am saying, "turn-turn-turn-TURN!" then grab wheel and fix the problem.....I will warn the entire commonwealth of Virginia if/when this happens.

I had this car when I was in college: a W123 Mercedes 240D non-turbo diesel with a slushbox. At elevation, it probably had about 40hp; it was rated 65hp at sea level. I have lots of memories of climbing the mountains at 38mph, which is almost redline in second--if it shifted to third, it couldn't pull hard enough to keep climbing and would downshift again around 30.

Believe it or not, those cars have 114hp with the gas engine. My dad's 740 (same engine) felt FAST after driving my Benz. The VW-sourced straight-six diesel has less hp, but despite being a POS it has a lot of torque, at least until one of the two cambelts breaks.

An old Golf with the TD (no I) engine. Holy molasses. Fun molasses, but serious molasses.

This week has been a serous one for traffic. Yesterday, I got in the middle of a line of battle Vespas who were splitting a huge traffic jam. They were the funniest guys I have seen in a while. Shiny shiny Vespas, business suits, and riding with vengeance.

I must concur.
