But I checked my couch, and I only came up with 15 cents not 15 grand

Packing for the long haul

Our beloved George Carlin had a diddy on our "STUFF" man. How you had to take your "Stuff" with you.

I have learned to pack differiently, all my camping gear, including tent, sleeping bags mats, etc and all my food and cooking gear are packed into one "CREDIT CARD".

I travel light...and live large...

It looks super tall, but it's actually not; seat height was pretty close to my KLR, maybe an inch higher. I couldn't flat-foot it, but wasn't tiptoeing it either. And I do believe BMW came out with their 800 before Triumph came out with the Tiger, but regardless of who copied who, I like 'em both. I gotta agree with ya that there's a lotta fragile-looking plastic to break in the event of a fall, but hey I'm a KLR rider and I keep plenty of duct tape, JB Weld, baling wire, and zip ties on hand.

Ya mean that black'n'yeller '09? Yeah Richard discussed that one with me, that's a fantastic example of a low-mile, pre-farkled F8, but like I told Richard--I ain't got 2 pennies to rub together!

It's all I can do to keep Shinkos on Ye Olde KLR

BMW Grand Opening pictures

John shared his 29 pictures of the BMW Pensacola opening.

Cool rubbing elbows with the BMW/USA mucky-mucks from New Jersey.

http://share.shutterfly.com/view/fla...8AbuHLhm4Ys2oB

Everything was first class and we all wished Courtney much success with BMW.

Indeed, since TLH no longer has a BMW store, Pensacola's success would be good for us too.

I hope somebody impresses upon the new shop that they will live and/or die upon service and INVENTORY. Nothing in the age of the internet is so annoying as to hear the parts man say, "I can get it for you by Wednesday" when I can get it delivered to my door by Tuesday.

So True so true!

Since I dont have a bike "under warranty" I hardly ever go into to shop anymore... I just order on line and do it myself...

But it is nice to know we have a shop locally....

huh?

madhouse i'm not quite sure i should be talking to you after what i saw pete called you last week???
but i have to say you are right maybe one day i will have the nickles needed to own a real class bike like those shown but it's just not in the cards right now.
i also have to say that when i grow up i want to be more like inept , i think he has one of the best ways of looking at life of anyone i've ever met. he does not seem to let too many things smother his life force.
i did have acouple of full street bikes one hd and one 1700cc warrior and enjoyed riding in ga. where there are roads that ,,,,, change elevation and ,,,,have curves???
but when i got here those were found to be boring.
but to all of you true dual sporters i say cheers, just be careful on the street , some people use m/c riders for bumpers.
hey tony just for the record , i don't aggree with pete.
i wanna ride

FBM, I gotta warn ya mang--it'd be a huge mistake to 1) grow up, and 2) be more like me

But now I gotta tell ya something in regards to how I look at life (since you brought it up): Every day is a Gift.

Every.

Single.

Day.

And that, as you say, is NO

I was 11 years old today

My 11 year old granddaughter comes to stay with me after school until her mom get off work. She loves to go out in the garage and play her Iphone and sing and dance with the door closed... ya know how they are at that age...

So today I listen at the door and then go out and join her, only I dont like her music and we put MY iPhone on the speakers and listen to The Who and Cat Stevens and Billy Joel and the next thing ya know I am singing Piano Man into a shower curtain rod and she is dancing around and singing along with me...

I was eleven for awhile today and it was fun....
