A word of advise: PRINT yourself a map of the place BEFORE you head out! there are none there, and unless you have a class act of a man there to flag you down when you ride by you'll miss where you are supposed to be- for sure not maybe

I did a little maintenance on the BMW this weekend, sync'd the carbs up, replaced the fork seals and softened up the front suspension. Went for a test ride this morning on C180, felt so good, I went on to Brewton for gas. Before I got to Brewton, I decided its such a nice day that I would ride on up 41 to Claiborne Lock and Dam. Stopped at the gas station/Church's Chicken for popcorn shrimp to snack on at the dam, came out and there's a red 1150GS parked beside my bike, owner comes out a minute later, introduces himself, asks where I'm headed, turns out he's headed to the same place for the same reason.

Nice fellow, Hank from Atmore, think some of you know him.

I made it home with too much daylight to waste, so I took the KLR out for some splorin and beauty shots in her natural element.

Glad ya enjoyed it George--the hiking thing only applies to the primitive camping area, and I think it's meant to keep the area from becoming "overused." Ya gotta hike at least one mile in before ya set up camp, and it apparently keeps people away in droves. The main campground, on the other hand, is like any other state park campground and very popular. It was at capacity Friday night.

Now as to yer question about what kinda people ride dirt bikes at night, well here ya go:

Hey Barney, enjoyed the pics, that sure was some pretty weather we had this past weekend. We better enjoy it while we can! Rick, glad ya enjoyed the ride report, and you're right, I am living the life! For a KLR rider, anyway

OK y'all check this out: one of my old FloribamaRider buddies recently found a stray puppy. With 2 dogs/3 cats, he and his wife have a full house and they're trying to find a good home for him. They think he's approx. 5 months old and they tell me he has a very sweet personality. I already have a dog and 2 cats, or else I'd probably give this pup a home myself. Anybody looking for a puppy? Looks like some kinda Jack Russell mix to me:

Aw man, it ain't a secret, it's just about wanting what you have. I'd rather have a beat-up old KLR in the garage, and time to ride it, than have a garage full of exotic machinery and no time to enjoy it. I know a feller that has something like 15 very expensive motorcycles, but he doesn't do a whole lotta riding because he has 3 jobs that eat up his time. Wouldn't wanna be that guy.
