Hi guy's!!

I really would love to pay.... but they don't ask for money...
They simply don't get it sorted.. and DHL as my agent doesn't get it right either.

Driving down to Lima would mean if we're unlucky we burn the batterie too.

Well we will find out!

Answers:
Centurion Air cargo
Above 2k all included
Safe for a Ducati , 100%
Insurance , not needed unless you think that the plane will cratch
Miami- Santiago
Pay in Chile around $60 local charges.
CUSTOMS and paperwork easy.

For everything else, BEER! Better with wine

The legendary GS Trophy, now in its third season, will be taking the approx fifty riders across the Atlantic to South America. After Tunisia (2008) and South Africa (2010), the 2012 GS Trophy will be taking Chile and Argentina by storm.

Here the riders can expect not only spectacular legs against breath taking scenery, but also a great many special tests where the endurists must prove their riding skills and team spirit. BMW Motorrad will be presenting the exact course of each leg and all special tests before the GS Trophy is launched on 24 November 2012.

Not too much information on the web yet, but you can find something on their site, in english or german:
http://www.bmw-motorrad.com/com/en/i...html&notrack=1

besides that you can find loads of videos about it on youtube.

enjoy!

FWIW The exact price will always depend on the size of the crate and
the total weight.
I'm flying my bike out of L.A. and was able to reduce my costs by close to
20% by taking the front tire, top box and windscreen off, thus reducing
the height and width of the crate.

As noted above by the ever helpful Gaston, the local customs charges
in Chile are very low.
An Advrider who recently air freighted to Argentina payed in excess of 700 dead presidents to clear customs there.

Shipping in from Oz

Hello helpful people,

I'm trying to hatch a plan to ship my 950 from Oz to Chile sometime next year. I've done some research for the trip over and shipping from Australia into Santiago sounds easy and cheap enough... I just need to get myself and bike home again.

Can anyone offer any advice on things like storing a bike crate for about 3 months and organising shipping back to Oz?

Thanks guys,

Emil
