I was forced to follow them to a local establishment where I was forbidden to leave Serbia until I had partaken in drinking beer.

They had only ever seen one Greek guy here in the past so they were all stoked to see a bloke from Australia turn up on his bike willing to stop and have a chat and a beer.

They said if I got pulled over in Serbia to throw my hands in the air and shout "oh fekaday" and then smile. Apparenlty it means "Oh fuck it" apparently that would get a laugh from a cop and get me off, then in Bulgaria they just said to just give them 5 euros ahahahah

The older head officer obvioulsy had alot of repsect from everyone around as he had served on the front line in the war.

Needless to say even though I had only ridden through the bottom of Serbia I had the good fortune to meet some really wonderful friendly locals, its so cool everywhere i go I just meet good people, I love it around this part of the world.

Was starting to get late and im not here to ride through countries in the dark and I still needed to find somewhere to sleep so i said I needed a piss and back doored it, so long suckers oops forgot the older bloke was a sniper in the war, better duck down a bit. What a great meeting and the barmaid even out here in the middle of nowhere was pretty hot, the boys were trying to line me up but being the respectful soul I am oh shit who am I kidding I grabbed her by the hand and tried to drag her out the door with me, I even think she had a head that'll let you know what i was looking at lol

Arriving at the Bulgarian border was greeted by everyone that worked there so had about 8 people all hanging around trying to chat in a broken English, another warm welcome they definately dont get to many tourists out this way.

They told me there was a town down the road but when I got there it was looking pretty crappy and as Sofia was 65k's away I thought id just keep riding and find somewhere in town.

I have no idea where I was. Entered Serbia from Macedonia then rode along for about 30 odd minutes and turned right off the highway up into the hills to Vlasani Lake area and a after an hour or so mucking around in the hills I found Bratislav and his border control buddies and then was drinking beer with them at some tiny little joint in the middle of nowhere till late in the afternoon. Great riding up there though, if anyones is in the area id highly recommend it and definaly search out Bratislav hes a really nice guy as were his mates and everyone I met at the market they took me too. Its certainly of the tourist trail thats for sure. The where am I now link on my website with my spot tracker hooked to it would show my exact route
