I wish... I've seen that in a number of places, blogs mostly. Puck Daddy on Yahoo Sports for one ... not sure if he was the first.

As for his effectiveness, it seems to me that he's setting a real high bar here in the early season. 8 games + preseason for Wisniewski seems a bit high. That's more than Shelley got for his boarding incident.

What's he gonna do for an incident like Cooke's hit on Savard? Send him to the chair?

Have you guys seen the video explanations of every suspended hit?

Pretty amazing that Shanahan is releasing this much info.

Yeah I like is way of dealing with the hits, but his comments on fighting worry me.

I view fighting in hockey as an important part of it. Players need to be protected and "goon" on their team fills that role. There are plenty of hits that can be career ending the league does not protect against or punish harshly enough. While enforcers like Matt Cooke are a disgrace to the game, enforcers like Shawn Thornton do play an important part on a team. Nothing gets a crowd into a game quite like a good scrap.

The raising of the banner was awesome! Been many years since the last one... It's good to have Hockey back.

Does anyone here stream the NHL center Ice? I'm in a black hole for hockey games, and thinking about it, last night I managed to get the RDS live feed from the canadiens game, but the radio broadcast was 45 seconds behind, which was problematic. (RDS feeds are in French.....)

Who's got the streaming skinny for the NHL?

I've used it in the past. Great for catching out of town games, and I love the picture in picture mode. Keep in mind that local games will be blacked out for you. For me that meant no games involving there devils, rangers, flyers or islanders.

nice but

That is nice and all, but you would think that there would be more gold on there (color not metal, well both sort of).

The Wild's specialist goaltender shut out Detroit Sat and will get the start Tuesday.

I hope that makes him suitable trade bait to land us a defenseman.

They certainly aren't looking like the team that won the Cup last year. But it's too early to freak out yet. I hope...
