he likes to save his time outs for a defensive situation, he said.

So, how's that workin' out for you?

Don't start shuffling your lines now, Dale...

Congrats to the Rangers! 3-1 in game one.

Ovy was on the ice 21 minutes, 2 PIM and -1 overall.

Rangers only had 14 shots on net.
Caps had 18.

(wtf?)

After the Blues looked like they had this game under control, the LAKs came back to tie it. This might be a better series than I thought.

1-1 at the start of the 3rd. Shots on goal nearly even, 20-21, with the Kings out-hitting the Blues.

Blues just killed off 6 straight minutes short-handed. 4 for a high stick with blood, immediately followed by 2 for a puck fired directly out of the rink from the crease for a delay of game.

Now they are down one goal with 6 minutes left.

It's going to be wide open!

Nope. And that is one problem they have - they really don't have another gear offensively.

They had a few really good chances, but no dice.

And Penner scores the open netter for the icing on the cake. L.A. Kings win 3-1.

Game Day! 'Bout time. 7 days off for the Flyers might bode well for the Devils in the first period. But once they get back in the groove, Flyers should pull this game out.

I'm worried. Either the Flyers come out and start banging the boards straight off or they'll be cold from sitting on the bench too long.

I cannot express how much disdain I have for the NJ Devils. Buncha noobs.

They keep talking about Elias, leads the team in scoring, game winners, blah blah. Well, he's 36 years old and been with the Devils since what, 1996? I suppose he better be the team's leading scorer.

I have to play between 1:30 and 3, so I'll miss the start. I'm going to cover my ears and run out of the rink so I don't hear the store and record it at home.

Devils are playing the right way, thus far.

I give it until the middle of the second before a Flyer runs somebody to try to change the mood.

Start of the 3rd, I'm back and caught up. Come on Flyers... we need a moment of inertia here to put them back on their heels or make Brodeur start questioning his geriatric self.

So Brodeur can just slug a guy in the head, no call?

6:05 left and I'm all twisted up.

Those whistles seem to be shoved firmly up

Yeah, that was a pretty clear kick.

Oh well. We'll finish it a different way.

Once Sykora scored from out there, 5-hole, the Devils aren't afraid to shoot from anywhere.

What the hell was Brodeur so upset about? The Flyer was half a metre out of the blue paint.

WOOOHOOOO

Shew. That was a good game. Flyers definitely had to knock the rust off.
