Many of you I'm sure have been wondering what has been getting in the way of my riding and writing these past few months. Today, I am ready to make that information public.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Today I quit job and the career I have been doing since I started school seven years ago. I am opening my own business and our Grand Opening is scheduled for October 12, 2012.

My new life is called The Backcountry Pursuit. We are going to be the first outdoor adventure gear consignment shop in the Boise area. Think "used REI." We will fill a major void in our very active, and close knit outdoor community in Boise.
The Backcountry Pursuit will build its business by creating a close connection with the local community and give back though a donation program to benefit several local charities that promote outdoor exploration and healthy lifestyles.

I am excited to announce that in addition to the normal offerings of backpacks, skis, kayaks, and such, I will also be carrying adventure motorcycle gear. I hope this part of the business allows you to get rid of your old riding gear and get that Klim stuff you've been lusting after.

I've totally thought about it. There's a really good chance I will expand to that in the future. One step at a time....

Those are some seriously kind and heart felt words.

I'll keep riding and writing when I have the chance. Might not be many miles left for me this year though. Once this thing gets up and going, I'm right back to riding!
