Nearbye is 245, which is pretty lonely and almost as twisty.

I bought Big Red about 6 months ago. I took it on a Forest Service road by accident but I was surprised how good it did. It was hard pack with bumps.

Not sure if this qualifies, but I followed this guy's swerving tracks for over 350 kilometers on the Demptster Highway. He was riding his wing-thing 1500, street tires, cup holder, ice chest and all. He also rode it over some nasty, slick, muddy and otherwise "wild" country and road.

I was riding my GS Adventure, TKC's and all. By the time we met in Eagle Plains, I figured that over the entire distance and excluding my stopped for bears time, that I maybe only gained 40 minutes on him.

I guess that the point may be, ride what you have. It's not always the machine.

I love my Wing so much..

I found a mint condition 1986 Aspencade that is completely stock. It had 25,000 miles on it when I bought it last fall and I already have 40 thousand on it now. Before that I had a beautiful 1980 GL1100 with a lot of miles on it but I still loved riding it. I always own a nice sport bike along with the Wings but I ride them more than anything else. I would love to own a brand new 1800 some day soon. I feel that if you really love riding, and I do, nothing allows you to enjoy the open road and lets you ride big miles for days on end than a Wing. The pic is from the day I bought the 86. I rode my 80 over to go for a test ride. I immediately took all the chrome off it as soon as I got it in my garage.
Oh ya, I almost forgot. I went to the Red Bud national motocross race this year and when I arrived at the track the whole parking lot was mud and wet grass and my wing just chugged on through it all without so much as a slip.
