saw alot of deer, so i decided to slow it down

which was a killer spot, but it looked like if it rained i might have a hard time coming out of there, it also looked like a local late night party spot. I really didn't wanta ruin somebody's party with my snoring

there was a semi cool spot near here on a hill, with a open spot i rolled up into it & there was a windsoc at the edge i could

a helicopter landed on my tent in the middle of the night.

passed a sidecar rig, saw about 15 deer in a yard when the side car rig caught back up, can ya see the dog in the chair

appently thrusday, friday & saturday afternoon are the big days, saturday night (when i got there) things are slowing down

The wing place down town was sitting up a stage & bleachers in the parking lot so this looked like the place to be tonight. By now i've decided i'm gonna drink more than 2 beers & i don't want dodge deer, so why not stay at the red bud inn



no vacancy, that's why. Several folks in the parkinglot were admireing my panniers The wing place is just past that red neon sign under the N

there were 2 rv parks between here & there, I went to the closest one to the wing place asked if he had a tent space He said pitch it where ever i wanted.

I asked him what i owed him> He said i'm not gonna charge you to pitch a tent.

talked to a couple in a 5th wheel, ran into them every where i went that night. Also ran into those 3 guys i followed into town alot.

More downtown


I went all over this little town looking for bluegrass, Now i had a good time met some super nice people, laughed and all that. (& i'd go back again)

But when the name of the event is a bluegrass festaival i expect to see a banjo somewhere

I think of motorcycle rally i think beer

I see a wing place i think wings &

& this my freinds is where i was wrong.

No banjos, & a drycounty

Oh well, i shoulda planned better.

i'd listen to the band at the wing place and bs with some folks & then i'd go in search of beer & bluegrass

i found that if ya went to the park, and downtown down allies you would find what i call folk music, which was good just not bluegrass. Or maybe it's just me. Maybe arkansaw bluegrass & north carolina bluegrass are different, i don't know. But i didn't hear anything close to fox on the run all night

as i was riding around i saw some folks in a back ally hanging around a truck, as i passed em a light in my head went off. I went back and asked em

from that moment on Buck introduced me to everyone in town as "his freind from gerogia" well except his ex wife. i'd say something about her boob job but i'm afraid she might read this

I know buck will never read this but if he does i owe ya one (or 2)

I had alot of fun he knew everybody in town & alot of good stories

i can't belive i didn't get apicture of buck or his freinds

after the bar with no beer closed down we all went our seprate ways

i stumbled back to my campsite & went to bed


the next morning, this guy came by and helped me pack




i'm usually pretty good about drying my stuff before i pack but this morning i packed up pretty quick, quick for me any way and hit the road

saturday afternoon i was walking around the square, i had on my 9th annual eastern rdv shirt









A couple of guys stopped me asked me about the shirt. They loved it & wanted one. I told them this was an actual sign on the blue ridge parkway. Minus the watch this , hold my beer part. They went on & on about how much they liked it.

I was walking off thinking i need to tell rick about this

but he's still making people smile

i've heard about push mountain so that was where i was headed

after breakfast at the angler



reflection in the glass keeps ya from seeing the veiw of the river, with motorcycles going over the brdige. also i thought i was getting a good picture of the veiw, breakfast & stuffed animals on the wall. turns out not so much

was wanitng to see the caverns, but they didn't open till 9:30 am

turned around to head back & saw a short cut, old asphalt headed uphill in the general direction i wanta go.......maybe not







push mountain was a blast, had it mostly to myself and the deer, I was trying to get a decent deer picture when some sportbikes flew by me & got my heart going didn't even see em coming
