Duke, you know it's always something that's on the cards, I have to make it happen though, just like Ned has this year. I would have loved to have done the race with Ned and we did discuss it briefly but it did not fit in with his plan(s). Ned is a great friend and we have done a lot together and still do when time permits. What he has achieved and the way he has gone about it is exactly as I would have done it. Even though we live 4500 miles apart, we have spent many hours discussing Dakar prep, sharing ideas and firing spares lists back and forth! Ned asked me to join him with Chris V before the start of the race but there were two issues with that. 1) I honestly could not face being in BA and not starting the race......that would have driven me crazy! and 2) It would have limited the time I have to compete in other FIM Rallies this year. One day Duke.......

Anyway, this is all about Ned so hi-jack over...........GO NED!

and as others said - keep riding at 80% of potential allowing attrition of others and your ability to do smooth and fast, gradually move you up the leader board.
