Yeah, I have the same issue with Ambien: I have woken up in the middle of the night and called people and had full conversations, and have no memory of it at all. That only happened once, and it was the second time I took it. I do enough stupid stuff on my own, and have enough trouble remembering numbers or addresses or to pay bills, etc....I don;t need any help getting worse about it.

There is a sizeable population of users who show this tendency, among others that are far worse, and it it totally unpredictable. Google the term "Ambien Zombie" ...

The hangover is not worth the "sleep," I get, if you could call it that. I don't think it would be a good time for Ned to be trying it out either, but to each his own...

I'm a doc and have some experience with this. Personally, I tried it during the Colo 500 a few years ago when my roommate snored so much I couldn't sleep. I had dizzyness and even some vertigo and couldn't keep my bike on the trail the next day. Never again.

There's 2 kinds of Ambien as well. One is more time released for staying asleep issues, the other knocks you out.

I hated the rebound, ie, my insomnia was even worse when I didn't use it, for about three nights.

Never again.
