tks a lot in advance...
Well you can order all bits n´pieces at your local KTM dealer. Just get the microfiche for the 450 or 690 Rally and start write down what you want and think you need. It all depends on what money you have. Its just like ordering any other part for your bike.

Exhaust

This weekend, my dear Father in law helped me with the exhaust. He knows his way with the welder I don´t

Turned out pretty nice, ey?

My helping hand:

A bit of touching up on the framepaint goin on as well

Here is how I attache the steeringdamper..."stem"...thingy...whats it called.
A piece of alu bent underneath the baseplate, screwed in to the mountholes for the ign.
and in to the steeringdamper....thingy....

Next up: Try to start it

Some welding goggles or welders helmet for his birthday, Man!

Thanks for posting. That is a great project! I'll follow closely.

Great write-up, and great work. It's great to see people find a solution with their brain, rather than with a dollar (or euro)!

What was the original plastic road book holder you had?

Looking forward to more.

Got any part numbers? I tried to zoom in on the boxes but I don't have CIA level software. KTM dealers I called were worthless in getting info on the factory tank and fairing part numbers. Frustrating.....

Here you can find the parts catalogue for 2012 450 rally:

Link

Then you'll be able to check parts price on many KTM vendors sites: I suggest KTM RAU (Germany): http://www.ktm-versand.de/index.php

Here are the main ones:

1x 7620701300004A Tank left €553
1x 7620711300004A Tank right €553
1x 76307040000 Seat €238
1x 7621100400028A Fairing front €840
1x 76311002000 Fairing left €234
1x 76311003000 Fairing right €234
1x 76311004020 fairing brace €270

I think most of the prices are fairly reasonable (yeah plastic tanks produced in low volume are expensive to recover the cost of the molds) except the front of the fairing, that one is way expensive because it's made from carbon fiber AFAIK.

Of course there is a bunch of extra hardware and small parts needed.

Grazie, Maurizio. Und Danke, LukasM. Exactly what I was looking for.
I expected the cost to be much worse.

Looks to me like he's holding it in front of his face (at 2 o'clock to the arc flash)

Thanks!

Roadbook is a cheap model like the Acerbis one, could be found here for example: http://www.mx1west.com/acerbisrallyroadbookholder.aspx

Ok lads n´ lassies!
Daddy is a happy man.
IT´S ALLIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, no pics ´cause the cellphone ran out of battery.

So far the fuelpump seems to do the job. Had it idle for a good 20 min and took a short testrun. No probs!
Will take it out for a longer testride next weekend.

...no fairing yet though...
