Well I bought a different bike, and this thread is turning into a pissing contest. Might as well nuke it

But that is the exeption to the rule.
I replace my slave cylinder at 60K miles.$150 easy and not very expensive preventive maintenance to avoid costly repairs like yours...
I know the name Buell stood for the epidome of reliability...
They were just too reliable and made the other manufacturers look bad...
You owned 10 beemers in 10 years;why?
Wore em out quick riding 100K miles a year...
Which Guzzi or what bike did you buy this year, which one do you get next year...?
It was not the exception to the rule on 1150 oil heads. There were scores and scores of failures, many at low miles. Just do a little reading. Of course you'll have to take off the roundel colored glasses first

My two Buells were among the most reliable, lowest cost of ownership bikes I've ever had the pleasure of owning. Haven't owned one in nearly 7 years, but I have fond memories of them. The BMWs? Not so much. I owned 10 of them in 10 years for a variety of reasons, not the least of which was I rode 30,000 miles a year for most of those 10 years. Also not the least of which was the fact that most of them were pieces of shit. I usually owned a couple at a time. Total of four RT's, 1 GS, one '72 R60 I restored, two K1200 LT's, two F650 GS's. So you see, I speak from a position of actual ownership experience when I talk about bike brands, which is why you don't see me talk about Ducatis much. Haven't owned one yet.

This year I bought a Triumph Tiger 800. Love it so far, but unfortunately I don't get to ride nearly as much as I used to. ONly 5000 miles on that bike since May, and 3-4k on my Harley. Next year I'm considering a Guzzi V7 Classic.

I put my money where my mouth is. How 'bout you? What have you owned? You sure talk a lot of shit about a variety of bikes around here. Tell us, what's your REAL experience? Let's leave out anything you haven't owned or put at least a hundred miles on.

I do hope you enjoy your new bike.

Nuke the thread? Nah, I can't wait to see what his actual experience is. I wonder if he'll tell the truth?

Thought I'd revive this thread since I just picked up this one.
I think I'm gonna like it.
Kept my '96 R1100GS but this will be a different application.
Yes, I think I'm gonna like it.

I'm sure you've forgotten more than most of us will ever know about bikes.

.. time to run to the mods (obviously friends of yours) so you can get me booted again.. it seems to be what you do best, other than belittle other riders.
It is clear from your post you don't know a thing about me. Not that I need to defend myself to you - there are hundreds of people here I've met in person who value my friendship as I do theirs, and know without question what I'm about.

You got banned for acting like a douche. Seems like you're on the same track again

Did you even read this thread before you responded? Didn't think so. If you did you might have responded differently. But then again, probably not.

The mods give me no special consideration or favors whatsoever, but if you continue like this they'll probably give you some special consideration

Hope you enjoy it. The sound of that engine alone is worth the price of admission.

That's the truth - nothing cooler than the sound of a Goose opening up the throttle bodies.

Moto Guzzi's have that perfect mix of exhaust note and mechanical thrash coupled together in lovely harmony.

The City X is a great bike.
I would not personally trade a VFR away for one, but it's not my call.

I love love loved the City X when it was new and narrowly missed buying one, thanks to an HD sales manager who didn't return my calls.

Hope you like your bike.

what bag is that?

Hey T-Jack. Nice! I like the red frame bikes, but then again I have one. In lime color.

But I want to ask, what tank bag is that? Looks good on there.

Not really sure. It was on the bike when I got it.
The bike is currently stored across town in a garage.
When the weather gets better and I can take the time to clean the bike up, I'll check it out and let you know.

Oops. Actually the bag was in my basement...

Its a Dowco "Rally Pack".
There's a 3 bag luggage combo with the bike too.
I think its all the same stuff.
