Yamaha TY World Headquarters

How about a place for all TY folks to show, discuss, cuss and whatever else you want to say about the TY's.

I picked up this bike last Friday and could not be any happier. I have a gasgas that I have been learning the skills of defying gravity but the old school bikes are so cool.

So post your treasures, OJ's or yourself riding the old vintage classic.

Well heck I will add another TY250A to the collection. This is my best "barn find" that I can think of. Picked this TY up last saturday from the original owner. He had the original title, service manual, original sales receipt ($850.00 plus $34.00 in sales tax), tool kit, flywheel puller, original fiberglass skid plate, two new plugs, and a set of points and I paid him every penny he asked for. Not to say what I paid for it but, I have spent more money on a wild night down at Northside Fort Worth. The gentleman was 75 years young and he knew he could of gotten more money for the bike but was ready to release the memories he had riding this baby.

When we loaded it up in the truck, he looked at me and paused a minute and I could tell he wanted to say something and I said it before he could get it out. I said HECK NO I will not part it out, I will bring it back to life. When the tear rolled down his cheek and he gave me that little smile I knew I said the right thing. I will do my best to make him proud.

This bike is part of a huge history of a group of guys from the DFW area that rode every weekend at the Flying "P" Ranch in Weatherford, Tx. in the 70's and 80's. He was a member of a group that called themselves the "Bells Angels", they all worked for AT&T.

Tomorrow will be the first shipment from PeeWee at B & J. Let the money pit spending begin.

After a Bultaco Sherpa T that I paid $350 dollars for, $50 down and $50 per month strait out of college. Divorced 6 months later.

This was my greatest bike ever but a 350. That would be about 18 trials bikes since the infamous TY 350 mono shock. I had a John Shirt muffler, painted the damn thing white and then back to red. That bike was so awesome and many are still running and killin' it.

The TY from the AT&T guy - Eddie Kessler by chance????

Thanks Garth and NMTB.

It has a Mick Andrews signature on the tank.... FTW.

I just picked up a TY 80 from a guy like 5 miles from me that I'm delivering to Chris Hertritch at Sipapu this weekend. Needs a few bits like a tire and tube, clean the carb, grips and a new kill switch, then good to go. Pictars later.

My plan is to make this thing street legal over the winter but mine didn't come with a title... or speedo, turn sigs, etc. Anybody got that stuff laying around that they don't need / want?

I do like these TY's. I also like the color. AteamNM I think I have seen a photo of Mick Andrews signing that tank on the web somewhere.

Legion that bike is nicer looking than a trophy wife.

TY 80 Tire

Looking for a 15 inch rear tire for a TY 80. Any suggestions? I will post in the flea market as well.

Question: is it true you can simply replace the TY350 barrel and piston w/ the 250, cuz 350 stuff unobtainable???
Thanks
