I am super jealous. You're setting the bar high for us NJ riders who'd like to head out west.

Great job, and keep the awesome photos coming!

Spend the night in a camp. Good thing I made a reservation ahead of time, there were no free spots.

I saw incredible scenery along Route 89:

Rt-89, didnít I see this on a postcard?

Who put these rocks here?

A lot of construction caused me to stop often:

While Iím stopped and wasting time, here is a picture of my tank bag. Iím very happy with its convenience and functionality:

I kept my SLR and other small items in the Pelican Case. Iíve also electrified the case so I can charge my gadgets while riding.

Letter ďSĒ:

As I started to ascend on twisted roads into the mountain the temperature started to drop fast again. But I prefer 60F than 100F.

Altitude is 6,000 ft:

The higher I get the windier the roads got. Altitude is over 8,000 ft:

Narrow Winding roads? Oh yeah, baby:

Though itís not on my way, I just couldnít skip these roads.

A very nice lodge and cabin was located right next to it. There were some log cabins stood right on the edge with in incredible view.

Inside the lodge was a fancy restaurant and I decided to go there. They looked at me like a fool because you needed a reservation months in advance. Rather than sit, wait and hope that someone wonít show up I settled for a deli. My time is more important.

I had time to fill my hungry stomach and did a photo shoot of the Grand Canyon during sunset. And with my saved time Iím sitting in my tent writing these lines.

The camp didnít have showers and it cost $1.50 for 15 minutes in the visitorís center, I decided Iíd rather walk around dirty. Where do they come up with these prices? Never-the-less tourists will eat any cost. There were more foreigners than Americans there btw.

Beautiful pics, I just finished up a local trip here in CO with my point-and-shoot, and was longing for my DSLR! Next trip, in a week or so...

Living in CO sure has me spoiled when it comes to scenery!

Zion National Park

The next stop was Zion National Park. Iíll be returning here in 3 months, the park deserves it. Zion is great for hiking but this visit I spent riding around and marveling at the scenery.

Here even the mountain structure is unique:

What are winding roads!

There are plenty of cars in the summer, especially RVs, but I was still able to find gaps to twist the throttle:

There are many creeks and rivers:

An ideal place for mountain climbers. By the way one of the roads was closed due to a rescue effort for a fallen climber.

Bryce National Park, Utah

The next park was Bryce National Park. They are close by, only 60 miles apart, but so different in appearance. Judge for yourself. No comments, just pictures.

Coming up to Bryce:

Bryce National Park:

Well, I like my bike too but not to this extent:

Wildlife started to appear:

The lodge was very pleasant where I spent many hours uploading my pictures:

This camp also didn’t have a shower…grrr. Two days without bathing and 3 days without shaving. At night the temperature dropped below 40F and the bathrooms only had cold water. As I left between 5-6am I didn’t have much desire to wash in ice cold water.

When I got there late at night, it was pitch black and I couldn’t find my tent and I forgot the campsite number.
The entrance to the site was self check-in and I had to leave $15 in an envelope. Since I didn’t have any small bills, I decided to get change in the lodge and on my way back at 1am, I left the money.

I thought that the park employees removed my tent because I didn’t pay the fee. My tent had my sleeping bag, mat, helmet and warm cloths.

The temperature dropped to 36F, I’m shivering. My caring neighbors offered me warm cloths and even a sleeping bag. To my shame I stopped a few dozen yards from my tent.

On the road to Monroe, UT:

After Bryce National Park my next stop was Monroe, UT. Nothing special but I read in National Geographic that there are excellent Natural Hot Springs. I decided that after 3 days crossing the country and visiting dozens of parks I deserved some R&R.

Again nothing special and I could describe Monroe in a few words, but it looks like I will need a separate post for it.
