lol - youre welcome Jacpod - are you a Amerikaner or a local yocal? You'll be close to us if your in Stellies, lots of jolling coming ur way.

Keep in touch. Why the pinotage? I see its a bit of a fad now with that movie out there in the States, but I prefer a nice smooth merlot or cab sav or cab sav merlot or just plain old fresh oj - bwhahahahahah

Cheers allemaal, G
Sedert ek Welmoed se Pinotage in '86 geproe het op 'n koue Vrydag voor koshuis rugby, bly Pinotage 'n gunsteling.

Of course, if we exchange bikes (mine a '05 12GS, previously had a F650GS) you assume responsibily for dents and bruises. I'll accept the same.

BTW, are stolen bikes a concern?

Groete,
Jac(o)pod

Nah, I wanted to teach at a university (studied in the US) but as a white Afrikaans speaking male could not find one in SA. ;-( (I'm in theology and the first position in 12 years just opened). In the meantime I built a life and family and my studies took me out of the South African context.

Anyway, I'm envious of you all that can do year-round riding. Riding season here in Michigan is from March through November.

And I noticed that SA has become the place for new model introductions (such as the BMW12GS and the Triumph Sprint). Enjoy!

Dern! Jealous. Geez, what I would do to do that. Welcome to the forum Buddy, have a blast. Closest I have been to Moz is in the Army when I patrolled the Kaftan with my platoon. One thing I can say: sand. Hope you've got your sand technique down bud. Otherwise, ensure that you have a camera to make us jealous when youre back. Safe and happy travels.

Have a good time. from Jealous CapeTonian

Thanx guys, i'm in Kuilsrivier. I'm meeting up with a Canadian (retired pilot) who can down to do a trip in SA and Namibia. Some drunk cage crashed into him in Knysna - so his trip is finished after 6 weeks. They're writing the KLR off, he said I can buy some of the aftermarket assessories from the bike. He have the tools to change my KLR's doohickey - so we shall do this long overdue procedure this weekend. Some other time - we do a nice trip??

BTW - is there any limitation on the size of photos posted on this forum?

Cheers
Hein

Howzit Hein

I work in Stikland right round the corner. I ride in the sand soemtimes in the huge area next to the Eskom plant here. I am sure you know the area. Come have some fun :)

I am not an expert on posting pics. I usually post medium sized ones, and its cool.

I have never seen a moderator complain about the size of posts.
I for one find it extremely frustrating when people post HUGE pics that force me to scroll around the screen and try to guess just what the hell its supposed to be…
Also, I use dial-up - waiting 15minutes for a pic to load is not an option!

My pics are never wider than 600 or 700 pixels and I try to compress them (.jpg) to smaller than 100KB

Not so good G

Everything is being shipped from Germany (3weeks!)
Its only been one week and I have to hold on for another two! I'm dying here...

My weekends are just not the same without her - I just stay in my flat and refuse to go out. I dont even take out the empty pizza boxes and beer cans...

I miss my bike
