Hi NorCalTA,

Good that you have nothing broken. It will always be possible to replace the Transalp !

Cheers,

Olirider

Thank you for taking the time to scan in all those cool photos! I graduated HS back in 89 and remember when that bike came out here in the States. It looks like you had a memorable experience, and thanks for sharing.

I'm with the other guy that likes the blue over white paint job. I see that on my bike sooner or later. Great pics! Seeing all of that old riding gear brings back memories of when I first started riding. "Disco gear". LOL Thanks again for the scans!

God made man. Then man made the TransAlp. God was humbled.

I too in the Rally

Hi, it is my first post, greetings to all and I apologize for my English, I was there 22 years ago, I have about 150 pics of the travel. Obviously the subjects are the same to the ones of Olirider. I remember : 200 bikes, 250 persons (mostly the wives of riders) 17 nationalities. For me were about 7500 km (home- strasbourg barcelona-home included), about 700 km off-road.

Now I'll put my scanner at work. Ciao

A great organized Tour from *ond* for only 150 € for the driver (pillion 100 €).

Pic is from the way north to the Rally starting in Strasbourg.

Do you still got the Transalp?

Hi, after the transalp of the rally an horrible GS100 BMW, 2 Transalps more then my wife has decided that 50 years of bike were enough, now I have a cabrio car. Probably I have no more the right to post in this forum , but by chance I 've found this thread that has remembered to me a wonderful adventure (sincerely not so dangerous and uncomfortable). Now I 'm preparing a series of 17 pics, then if nobody will get bored i could make another. Ciao

Can you tell something about your specal Transalp? For instance what's that around the tank and before the knees? Heathing?

Upload pics to a sharing site first (flickr, picasa, or smugmug), and then link to those photos.
