Per! Wow what a tricked out TA, would you like to share the story? Was it just luggage or extra fuel as well?

And 320000km on the Alp, original engine? Major work needed?

Cheers,
Zappa

Nothing so heroic: 2 little suitcases, 2 bags and a lot of transfers. The luggage was transported by Honda's lorries (you can see the off-road pics: bikes have not luggage). Only at the end of the rally the lorriers were full of crashed bikes, the wives traveled on honda's mechanics's cars and the luggage on the bikes. Never fuel's problem, the itinerary was always close to towns. After the travel une valve had burned, so i sold my TA (km 28.000) and I bought an horrible
BMW GS 100. Ciao

now I have a cabrio car. Probably I have no more the right to post in this forum
Who said anything about having to own a motorcycle to post on this forum ? As long as you have bike pictures and good stories to tell, I am all :

Hi Guys,

I’m a bit late to the party, I can’t believe I missed this thread. Thanks to Olirider and Slop47 for posting their photo and telling us about the event. I downloaded some videos off YouTube a while back about this rally, so here they are.

Cheers

And here is a link to another one but it would let me embed it

Here are the three from the trip in 1988 up to Nord Cap. Guess they must have been quite a sight, a new style / concept of bike on the road and trails.

Cheers

Fantastic

Good old memories.

By that time I had the "younger" sister Dominator 650.

I did a half dirt half tarmc cross country in 1989.

Then in 1991 I bought a TDM.
My brother still has a 1995 red Transalp.

Fantastic bikes

Keep it coming

How strange is that; only yesterday I was talking about doing a trip sometime from Strasborg to Barcelona, with the original Transalp Rallye in mind and toyed about with routes on Google Earth.

I work in tourism, so this summer is out, but later this year or next year I would try and reserve time for it. Please keep me posted if the road books turn up; in fact I am also a member of Transalpage in France so will ask the guys if anyone can help, has the route, or fancies coming along.

Cheers
