That took care of #2. There is no "uninstall" available. I get things like "clear cache" but no uninstall.

I'm trying to remove the Block Buster app. Non of the options work.

If it came on the phone from the factory, you can not remove it. I have that stupid app on my HTC Inspire, and short of rooting the phone there is no way of getting rid of it.

That's what I was afraid of. I may root it eventually just to get rid of the crap.

T-Mobile G2 glitch

For the most part, this has not been a bad phone for me, but lately I have run into a glitch that I can't seem to get around. When trying to send a text message with an attached image, I get a "sending" under the message, but it never sends. Regular texting without images is working fine and shows as "sent". This just started this weekend. Ideas?

you still loving this phone? I ask because I'm pretty sure it's going to be my next phone. I have an unlocked HD2 running Android 2.2 with HTC Sense. I'm looking to buy one outright and put my SIMPLEMobile SIM in it. I want the greater speed, better camera/video, build quality and more stability.

Nope. Think I'm going to have to bug T-Mob about this. The network and signal strength icons switch from green to white and 4g goes to no g anytime I try to send a message with a picture attachment, even if it is a picture I took with my phone. Like I said, this all started this weekend, so I am at a loss. I can still upload to Photobucket or e-mail though, so it is something in the messaging.

I'd like to put a stand alone GPS app on my Galaxy S2 (ie one that stores maps locally and doesn't require wifi or phone access as the roaming charges in Europe are nuts)

Can anybody recommend a decent GPS app for the S2? I don't mind paying a few bucks as long as it is fully functional and will route.

I'm using ALK CoPilot.
Not as good as TomTom on windows Mobile , but it works on the S2.
One of the things that bug me with it is that when you route and either get or make a call it's a PIA to get the nav screen back again. (And I have a lot of calls exactly when I need to know which sideroad to turn to right now )
Another factor is that it does not have TMC and therefore will not reroute for traffic jams automatically...

Cheers

Markus

There is an inmate who made Dual Sport Maps. There is a vendor thread too. Worth the $

I fixed the setting for that and cleared out the unwanted random e-mail addresses and everything is working fine again.

Thanks for the help regardless.
