Howdy folks. I've read a bunch around here and have decided to buy a Scotts steering damper instead of the other choices that are out there.
I would also like to raise my bar at the same time. Does anyone know if the full kit (about $700 on Scotts website) raises the bar? Also, is there a better price deal than buying the kit (damper + triple clamp)? Perhaps a place that gives ADV or AMA members a discount? My 990 is a 2008, if that makes a difference. Thanks!

There is a ADV specific damper that does not require you to change the triple cmamps - that should work out a lot cheaper, I'm sure some-one will chime in with the manufacturer.

KTM-Parts.com
I got my sub-mount upper triple & damper for about $625 @ www.ktm-parts.com
I had to pay tax, they are only 12 miles away! Nice kit though, SO complete... I think it was worth it

I just got an Emig from KTMtwins. They also carry the Scotts. On my last KTM (450EXC) I had the BRP Scotts kit. That was really nice and about the same price. You can get it directly from BRP's website. They are all around $700 shipped.

Any suggestions on where to find just the mount parts?

Noticed that renazco racing has them for $664 and they offer a 10% adv discount. Brings it to just under $600, that was the cheapest I've found yet

It is a good unit, but is not as precise as my GPR on my 450. http://www.rallemoto.com/contents/en-us/d27.html

I got the triple and stabalizer. It mounts up very cleanly. It moves it forward and up.

ktm-parts.com offers a 10% discount on all equipment when you sign in. It's easy money, hence the good deal. Renazco may be cheaper right now, but generally ktm-parts.com will be handy day in / day out.
And yep, I got mine a while back (when I hat the Katoom, I'm a poor Vancouverite as compared to a cashed up Brisbanite right now) and it worked a treat. Great investment; but do your suspension first! (If you haven't already)
