Dumb question right...

For $600 less your increase would only be 16 hp. My question is: is it worth the extra $600 for the extra 4 hp?

What say you?
I'm pretty sure there is at least two more tiger threads you can post this on to annoy even more people.

How or why is it annoying?

Because you've obviously got info about something and instead of just posting your info or question you're trying to bait people into some cat and mouse, to and fro, question and answer, merry-go-round circle-jerk. Just give a bitch some info and lets talk about it.

Oops. Sorry. That was not my intent. I only learned of it this morning... And I do not know all the details.

Basically Ronnie Saner (one of the crew that set up Team Latus' Pikes Peak bike last year) has put together a kit with Cams, Pipes, FMF can and mapping to get the 20 hp increase for the 800.

It is a fairly straight forward kit but it is a bit pricey.

If you omit the pipes and just do the slip-ons and the rest the increase is cut back by about 4 hp. (16)

George Latus asked me and a co-worker today if we thought people buying and riding the 800's would prefer the full system or if they would be more apt to go with the lesser cost option. $600 less // 4 hp less

I believe he is ordering up several kits to have on hand.

I guessed and said 60/40

40% going for the full kit
60% going for the lesser kit.

I was just wondering what some of the other owners thought.

I agree. As did Dave and George... But on that bike 20 hp is very noticeable. And as you know, power is intoxicating. I am told it does not hurt the mileage as much as one might think. I will put a couple hundred miles on one as soon as I get the chance and get back about the fuel economy aspect.

"Need" is a term that oft times does not fit well with motorcyles.

I would have to see it to believe it. There is already a guy on here somewhere that put a speed triple cam in. If thats all he's doing, well then the secrete is out. 20 hp for a not crazy ridiculous price isn't out of question for me.

I don't think the bike lacks hp. However, a noticeable increase in low end torque would pique my interest in a kit. Please do keep us posted on the riding impressions. A back to back comparison with a stocker would be enlightening.

I'm very interested in a full exhaust minus the cat. I don't need more power, I just want better heat dispersion, more efficiency, lighter weight, & quite.
