Just checked with the boss and she says she doesn't remember. She's in the habit of doing this for her DR650 so this crawling back to the bike is just what she does. Not sure if the switch worked or not. She falls a lot.

[QUOTE=RedBean25;21265326]I wondered the same thing. I hope she was alright...she seems a bit dazed.[\QUOTE]

She's a Kiwi, she can handle it. Besides, that's why I buy her all that expensive gear. You should see what she did to a set of plastic Givi boxes on her DR - split wide open playing ping-pong off a rock after mis-judging her width coming down a rutted out dirt road. The spread of gear over the road after impact was awesome.

As for the rack, indeed in that picture the case sure does look to be tilted in quite far. But considering she was probably only 10 mph and laid it down in the sand I doubt the impact could have been that forceful. I often ride behind her and have noticed that the cases don't appear to be vertical but the left one certainly doesn't look that bad. I'll compare to mine and see how offset it is. Anyone know if they should be vertical?

I noticed the same thing in your RR. I am willing to bet is is the rack and not the subframe. Maybe try bending the rack and see what happens?

If it's orange there's plenty of evidence that they're much less stable than other colours. See above....

According to Jesse the racks are intentionally like softer than the frame. Better the rack bents than the frame. And it's mild steel so normally can be bent back, repaired, ... wherever in the world.

So true...they literally throw themselves on the ground at the drop of a hat.

Step 1- Get hung up on frame on rock between two mud puddles.
Step 2- Release tires from suction of that mud.
Step 3-211 Pull and drag the rear end over to solid ground and then motor out of that mud while running over about 2000 tadpoles

That orange one looks more like someone threw the ground at it . . . rather than vice versa.
