World Juniors Hockey Tournament

Mid-tourney already and no thread on it? This is some of the best hockey you can watch, way better than those pro prima donnas.

Current game is in second intermission, Canada Vs USA, 2-1 canucks right now. Very evenly matched teams, similar styles. The third period should be epic.

Top two draft picks for the coming draft are head to head, in McDavid and Eichel, too.

Was gonna bump last year's thread, but not much interest on ADV for Junior Hockey.

Awesome game, and it's the best hockey ever. Just about every kid plays a shift like it's his last.

The Denmark win was awesome, and Domi could be the tourneys best player.

Well....

The US 2 years in a row with lots of speed, but not great team play. An undrafted player shouldn't be captain, imo.

Santa gave my 8 yr old son bronze medal tickets for him and I. Not shaping up to be any of the teams we were expecting or hoping for. Should be a great game and experience for us though.

You will have a great time anyways. It is good hockey....

Yes, the American team selection and admin needs a bit of overhaul....you need lines that work together to beat Canada.

Best hockey around is juniors anywhere, way better than pro games.

Current SVK/CZE game is pretty good.

Love Junior hockey. Got rid of my TV subscription so can't watch it at home. Watched Canada vs. USA in a bar. The wife says getting the TV subscription back would be cheaper in the end... Canada was the better team.

The Finn/Sweden game was a good one.

Fun to watch the play making of the Canadians over Denmark. Commentators said a couple of shifts were like the globetrotters, and the coach wasn't impressed with the fucking around.

Denmark spent the whole time in TO and we're loved by the fans. They got a standing O and the kids acknowledged it at center ice. Pretty cool to see...

My little guy is pretty stoked for the game on Monday. It'll be an unbelievable time if Canada is in the game, but we'll still cheer for them tomorrow over the Slovaks.

That Slovakian goalie deserves all three stars for the game. Talk about standing on your head to make saves!

If the Russian goalie has as good a game, with their forwards, they can win it tomorrow.

Can't believe he wasn't player of the game. I was expecting the selected player to give him the gifts during the ovation he got.

Couldn't imagine how Petan's parents felt...

Me and the young fella get to see Sweden and the Slovaks tomorrow. It'll be his first subway ride as well and we're expecting a fun day.

Hope we make it back without losing to much of the Canadian game.

Well there ya go. A close gold after I thought would be a blowout being up 5-1.

My little guy and I had an awesome time. The Slovak and Swed game was great and before the game, he asked me who I was gonna cheer for. I said, not sure and you? he said Slovakia, I said I'll cheer for them too!!!

Around the rink was lots of activities for him to take part in and he got some goodies. The Canadian flags and sweaters, the bunch of Sweds and Slovaks around us was all a great experience. The 16 buck beer, even the subway ride. Seeing pairs of tickets going for 3k.

He told me to speed to get home in time for the golden game... They were just announcing the first goal when we got in the house.. We missed about 40 seconds.. It was one of the best experiences we've ever shared together..

A little investing fact about two of the goalies in this event

Eric Comrie Canada

Thatcher Demko USA

Were both trained by the same Goalie coach for several years.

James Jensen who was a Duck Prospect here in So Cal.

Our oldest son played aaa with both goalies Ice and Roller for years

The Demko Family is normal everyday family and Thatch is a great young man.

Eric's family is Canadian Royalty His dad is a Billionaire, He used to fly the boys around to tournaments on his Gulfstream jet.

We wish great success to both these young men as there respective carriers move forward.

Hockey is a great place for young people to learn team work , respect and work ethic.

So, what kind of jet do you have?

You are deflating our stereotype of Kalifornians.

That was some great hockey though....took me a bit to get the little guy interested until he knew Pasternak (sp?) was playing...

Such a great tournament....if your boy played in it, good on him.
