How is the audio quality on the GL1800's ?

The GL1000 was a competent tourer though even two up and fully loaded. It gave us little trouble. Here is a picture of the bike loaded up in Yellowstone.

Audio is very good. AND...its all there, integrated together.

Okay good. Can you have speakers and a mic in your helmet to listen to the radio, communicate with your passenger and talk to people on a CB? Can you switch between the various function easily? Can you do all that with blue tooth connectivity or are you plugged in? Thanks.

I've owned 7 wings. '75,'81,'84,'93,'94,'06 and currently own an '88.

In July '11 I traded my '06 (53k miles, that I had bought new) for an '11 Wee Strom. The lovely Rea hardly ever rides anymore so I thought my wing days were over. Bought the '81 last fall 2011 and fixed it up over the winter. My buddy decided to quit riding and sold me his '88. The Lovely Rea will occasionally still go for a ride and we went camping in WV early summer. RR in my sig line. I do LOVE the wing when the weather turns cold for exactly the same reason someone living in FLA would hate it - Full Fairing.

The GL1800 are a better handling and better powered bike than the 1500's but I rarely ride hard enough to notice.

Had to sell off all my bikes, including the very sweet and usable KLR650 I put so much work into
I kept this 85 GL1200 in pony color, possibly the slowest color available

It's okay on the bike speakers, but the great thing is using the intercom system to have 2 way conversations, CB, Weather, Radio and whatever else you want to hook up to an auxillary plug, betwenn yourself and your passenger. Helmet speakers are much better than the bike speakers if you get decent quality. My last wing had a separate volume control for the passenger, which was also very handy. I need to install one on the current wing now.
I haven't figured out how to integrate BT and the phone into the system yet, but I understand it can be done.

Agreed on both. Sorry to hear about the sell off, but I love the Pony Wing.
