Received the Outback Rack today. Very nice product. Packaged well. One small issue, the front left mounting tab was not square to the rest of the rack, therefor, it wouldn't mount without a couple of smacks from a BFH. It was bent slightly outwards, leaving a gap of about 1/2" between the tab and the mount. After two bangs, lined up perfectly, and installation was less than 5 minutes. Very satisfied with the purchase, highly recommended rack for the DR 650!

Softbag Tiedowns 3.0
Hi there,
So my ManRacks Softbag Tiedown Hooks just arrived and they look really tidy. So shiny I could brush my teeth in them. A couple thoughts came to mind though, although I've yet to mount them. So I was one of the advocates of the CigarMike Slot, however based on my personal experience with slots (and sluts ), I'd think the slot gap could be a tad wider - like maybe 1/8" even. I'm worried I won't be able to reap the benefits of the slot (easy on-off) although I understand your concern about unintentional pass through. Also I thought the early versions had a slight bend off the mounting point. I can add this to mine with my trusty vise. Finally, might I suggest buttonhead 8mm stainless Allen screws (~8mmx20)? I'll post a pic of my mounted product. Thanks for the quick shipping. I just ordered them earlier in the week and they're already here. RZ Rob |
