Ferris,

Some folks might jump to the question of why you'd spend so much time trying to photograph a single drop of water. But those of us who ride and those who enjoy good music understand that drop of water may be Johnny Cash or Jimi Hendrix or...

I fly a starship across the Universe divide
And when I reach the other side
I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can
Perhaps I may become a highwayman again
Or I may simply be a single drop of rain
But I will remain
And I'll be back again, and again and again and again and again..

The only thing I don't like about your thread is that I wasn't there to pinch the back of your arm when you're trying to capture that perfect moment. Keep up the good work and if I'm lucky I'll get to screw with your handy work again someday!

I rode this one-lane lane for the first time today,
in spite of the fact it's no more than thirty minutes from my house and just thirty seconds off the Parkway.

I've ridden by this road a dozen or a thousand times, but never taken a peek.
Always too busy gittin' somewhere else, I reckon.

I discovered it don't really go nowhere, which was fine by me, as it meant I had it all to myself.

This little glimpse of Virginia mountain wilderness is one of the quietest places I've ever been.

The sun felt good, it was very quiet and peaceful, and I was in no hurry to leave, so I did a little hiking.
The lighting is too hot and all wrong for the next two photos, but it sure looks inviting, eh?
If you look close in the first pic, you'll see the main lodge at Primland in the distance through the trees:
