Problems with my 690:
I have done the SAS removal, added a Safari tank, had the suspension tuned, added a Scott stabilizer, had Uller do an ECU tuning, rode BAja for 10 days, rode around with BobZ and his posse for a week in the dez,, gone through 4 sets of tires in 13,000 kms, installed foam Uni air filter, added a Cyclops 7" light, an FMF pipe, custom seat, and probably a few other things.... My major complaints about the 690 are: ![]() two rotator cuff injuries, and five separated ribs... That 690 keeps on breaking ME !!!

I would join the broken bones club but I just broke my right fibula skateboarding so I guess it doesn't count. No surgery. Just a cast for 4 weeks
. Have not broken any body parts on the 690.....so far.....

Ha! Reminds me of my foot!
![]() From a car accident... I don't see the 690 the reason for injuries. Its US! And the fact the 690 gets up to speed very fast (any speed Ride smart!

So I switched out my thermostat switch again, and the new one doesnt work either, which is 2 in a row from KTM that are defective out of the box.
I can still jump my fan and im sure the temp is way above the "on" point using a digital thermometer. So I guess the next step is to try and get either a RMZ 450 switch or a LTZ 400 switch as Im supposed to be leaving on a 9 day trip through the alps and eastern europe next friday. Im fairly certain the local KTM guy is sick of seeing me at this point

I have 13k miles on my '08 that I bought in Summer of '10 with just under 400 miles (not a typo, four. hundred.). I won't say "zero" problems, but nothing that would leave me stranded.

I have 12k km in my -11 690. Only issue so far is broken chain guard mounting which actually has broken twice. Now I have TM designworks chain guard which is far better than original one.
