There has not been any recent updates on the Vortex unit. Are you guys still happy with your purchase? Is it worth the money? Where are you getting the most gains? I have been looking at getting one, though my bike runs great I would like to smooth out the bottom end. Where does the handlebar selector plug into?

I pulled the housing off and had a look inside the bell crank area of the t-body.
Looks like I can drill a small hole here and there and add a small spring. I think the ride by wire stepper motor added resistance with the old ECU system. An ECU flash won't help this problem as far as I can tell.

Have you changed maps? There's one on the Vortex with a "softer" initial throttle that works well.

Map changes don't really make a difference, it's a lot like a touchy has pedal

Doesn't cure everything but the power was more manageable on trails.

Now had two occasions of the FI light showing up, not blinking any pattern, but glowing solid. Only when bike is in gear. If I put it in neutral it goes away. Turned off and restarted and both times it didn't come back. Anyone know what impending doom I might be facing?

Therein lies a problem. Solid when engine running, nothing when ignition on and engine off

Just a little follow up....
I thought I would report back on my airbox mod after a thourough testing. I've put about 3,000 miles on the 690 since I made this change and all is well. No movement of the airbox is noticable (no rub marks).
I'm calling it a big success and recommend that KTM take notice and add it to the 2013. http://advrider.com/forums/showpost....postcount=4348 |

No offense but go ride 100 miles of single track and tell me if the map change works. Yes, it helped a little but the problem is the spring tension on the t-body

I have set the map select switch to soft but have not messed with the Vortex settings. The bike just gets a little jumpy in rough sections.
