When my wife & I lived in Mongolia, I tried to convince her that we *really* needed a $2500 GAZ 66 -- although I wouldn't have been shocked if it was stolen. I figured I could send it home in a shipping container. Those things make me weak in the knees.

this is exactly what we need I have just email xtrig , asking for them to make these to suit the 690

Not there's any thing wrong with taking an hour to do one full rotation , and have to replace the lock ring every time you make an adjustment

I don't adjust my shock because the threads are all F'd up

I was racing mine this weekend, enjoying the power and handling but cursing the stupid crap in the pits between runs....so close to being the perfect all rounder..so close I've come to terms with the 690's limitations and I'm just going to try and make it all right. As of next week, the harness is going to be in the garbage can, along with all the FI shit they used. The Chassis and the motor get to stay.

My plan is to race the 690 in the 2013 Mexican 1000 rally, so it needs to be bomb proof.

I,d think about keeping the vortex unless your going carb even then still it's reprogramable and hard wire it in and do a basic loom and get rid of the birds nest , I think you might run into trouble tring to eliminate all the junk with resistors
At least with the vortex it can be programmed to turn off those parameters

There is a company over here that uses aircraft spec cable manly do rally cars and and Aussie v8 I get plugs and terminals from them

I emailed Richard abourt my plan to make a new harness with the idea of eliminating the odd ball safety stuff and he didn't like the idea. For the average user, the Vortex is a great plug and play set up but for me, I don't think the added cost of buying the tuning software is worth it. Micro squirt gives me more options and is much cheaper. A friend of mine tunes rally cars for a living and he's an electrical engineer, I trust him.

He was helping me with my running issues this weekend and we had lots of good ideas about the direction we should go. His harnesses are a work of art!
