Pre load adjuster

OK all I have worked out a way of using an Xtrig preload adjuster just need some one to machine up a new lock ring with modifications.

The xtrig adjuster for the 950SE will fit as the shock body is 52mm x 1.5 thread pitch. the lock ring will need a block with two rods attached to be used as guides for the adjuster to move up and down .

I will try to mock some thing up as a reference so y'all can see what I'm doing .

I'm assuming a modified Xtrig? Thought the standard Xtrig preload adjuster did not need a locking ring?

No it does not need a lock ring but it does need a guide , On other model bikes the xtrig uses the gas canister as a guide
The 690 has a horizontal canister so it can't be used , that were a new lock ring with a built in guide come in to play,

The next herdle is room it is very very tight in there , I have not check even if the xtrig will fit if it does the will only be 1mm
To spare ,

I have also contacted me Wilber's dealer he has a hydraulic adjusted that may fit ,

And I have also contacted merge racing they had an adjuster I'm tring to find out if they had a 52.mm x1.5 adjuster
I believe there in still stock at bto sports .

When my wife & I lived in Mongolia, I tried to convince her that we *really* needed a $2500 GAZ 66 -- although I wouldn't have been shocked if it was stolen. I figured I could send it home in a shipping container. Those things make me weak in the knees.

I drive over your seeessy leeetle Hummer, da?

Was this the new economy map from June 2012?

Give me a call if you`re looking for someone for the machining .
Sounds like a good upgrade , I`ll be after one if its a reasonable cost .
