Check out this thread and ask RBott about his setup. Might keep the steering lock functioning. However (speaking from experience), the steering lock ain't worth much. Easily broken and bike gone in seconds. Not sure what bike theft is like in CZ, but here in NL you better have a top quality chain and lock, or it's gone.

email John and ask for just the longer arm for the damper and keep your pin mount

RBott's mount (I've used one since they first came out) uses the forward bar position but supports only that position and does center the damper turning axis over the steering head axis.

Here is the Scotts manual page to which I refer:

If you don't have this alignment, the frame pin slides on the damper arm and stresses the damper causing wear and premature failure, says Scott.

2011 690R TPS voltages

Wondering if anyone has the tps voltages for the 2011 690r. I have found numerous procedures for adjusting the two tps voltages on the 08-10 690Rs but no one seems to have the values for the 2011 which has different tps sensors. Any help would be appreciatted. «thanks

Question clutch and brake levers

I searched but could not find an answer. I have broken my clutch lever at halfway mark, and my brake lever is bent. I only ever use 2 fingers for clutch and brake so I would prefer to replace them with shorter levers. Does anyone have a recommendation please?

Anyone have thoughts on how I can keep my skid plate on?... it is a Meca skid plate, it keeps breaking one of the bolts then the vibration cracks the other mounting ear. I have welded it back 3 times now.. This time I put a big block of sponge between the plate and the engine hoping to reduce the vibration.

any thoughts?

my buddy tore up 2 of them and them we fixed it. poor design for the top mount IMO. we used a piece of stainless and broke it in a braket to bolt to the mount on the frame and bolt through the skid plate. never failed after that.

i made my own and havent had a problem but its heavy 5/16 alum....over kill i know but....its what i had laying around

690 Side Stand

Any aftermarket sidestands out there? Mine is okay , but I sometimes use it when mounting the bike (Ya , I know.....Bad boy).

Maybe I should just find a stronger bolt.....don't want to break it.....ideas?

Shoot I hope it don't break. The only way I can mount the bike is with the kickstand down, I'm too short otherwise!

I do the same and have been for 2.5 years now. Kinda like mounting a horse. I weigh about 230 with all of my gear on and so far nothing bent or broken. The stock stand seems pretty robust.
