I run Michelin T63's on my knobby wheels. The rear is 130/80. Works well and they are cheap.

Yes your are correst. The first number is the width and the second number is the height expressed as an aspect ratio of the width.

90/90/21 says the width is 90 and the height is 90% of the width.

At least that is what the tire section of motorcycle-superstore.com says.

The size 120/100 gives the width (120 mm) and height (120) as a percentage (100%) of the width. On a 140/80, the height would be 80% of 140 or 112. Changing tire aspect ratios can alter speed/distance measurements particularly if the change is on the wheel used for measurements.

Have not touched it or ridden in 9 months....other than to drain the coolant out of it. Had 3 decent crashes last year and needed a reset. I have done 10 years of ride and not much else so a little breather. Bike will get torn down and reiterated this spring.

Positve.

100/80 means 100 mm wide x 100*80/100 = 80 mm heigth As you can read in the link, it's the aspect ration, and it is exactly the same principle with car and truck tyres.

The lower the aspect ratio, the sportier it is. Typicaly, sport car tyres have aspect ratio in the area of 30 to 40.

That said, the end result is not always in sync with the reality. Dunlop D606 130/90-18 are as wide as Pirelli MT21 140/80-18, and as tall as well ... It's not an accurate science ...

Anyone know if we can swap out the 2012 instrument cluster for an older digital one?

I already have white dust in my 2012 one as well as LCD issues with parts of it blanking out...

Just asking a question, I don't spend hours and hours researching tires and specs I can tell you though, that twisting the throttle makes them disappear quicker and sitting on the couch makes them last forever

690 cam

Doing a teardown on my 08' 690 with 8000kms. Some wear on one of the cam lobes and roller. If I decide to replace the cam, anyone have anything to say about the do/don't get the KTM EVO II kit with the Rally Replica cam?

Anyone have the part number of the 2012 short oil filter? The one I got in the mail is different from the one I pulled out of the bike and want to make sure I have the correct one. I'll call the dealer$hip in the morning unless someone here knows.

I have no firsthand experience with the RR cam but I decided against it for my own bike after reading that, while providing a noticeable boost in power up top, there was an equally noticeable loss in power down low. I haven't found any other commercially available cam's for the 690 yet but I haven't looked terribly hard either.
